ASUS, derived from the last four letters of 'Pegasus', the winged horse in Greek mythology that represent the inspiration of art and learning. ASUS is Taiwanese's multinational computer hardware, electronics and mobile phone company. ASUS has it’s headquarter in Taipei, Taiwan. Its products include LCD’s, Desktops, mobile phones, monitors, tablet PCs, motherboards etc. It comes with an idea of “Inspiring, Innovation, Persistent and Perfection”. ASUS was founded on 2nd April, 1989 by T.H. Tung, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsieh and M.T. Liao. Before establishing this company T.H. Tung, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsien and M.T. Liao worked at Acer as computer engineers. It operates around 50 service sites across 32 countries and has over 400 service partners worldwide. ASUS obtained IEC i.e. Quality Assessment System for Electronic System for Electronic components, HSAM i.e. Hazardous Substance process Management Certificate in 2006. The company officially launched “Green Asus” in 2000. 'PC Recycling for a Brighter Future' program launched by ACUS in partnership with Intel and Tsann Kuln Enterprise Co. in April 2008.
