Not A Good Deal

ZTE Corporation deals in telecommunication equipments and network solutions. This China based company is among the top ten largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. Its ZTE G R255 is a basic featured phone that is available in Philippines and is expected in India.

Design and Display

The phone has been designed in a candy bar format with curved edges and a beautiful blue colored strip runs around its sides. Its dimension figures includes a height of 110.6 mm, width of 47.8 mm and a thickness of 13.2 mm. Its front features a TFT display of 1.8 inches that provide a resolution of 128x160 pixels and a circular shaped D-pad which is surrounded by two keys on both sides. Below the control cluster, there is an alphanumeric keypad in 4x3 configuration on which keys are rightly placed and are well responsive. The battery cover is plain, with rubbery finish for having a comfortable grip on the handset.

Hardware and Software

The device runs on the Proprietary Operating System and has 64 MB of RAM. Its internal memory stands at 64 MB which can be expanded up to 4 GB with a microSD slot.

Telephony and Messaging

ZTE G R255 supports two GSM connections and both will remain active all the time. It runs on the Dual band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz frequencies. The device has the capacity to store a limited number of contacts. On the messaging part, user can do SMS, MMS, Email and can use the T9 dictionary to type accurately. User can use the hands-free and loudspeaker facility for enhanced listening.

Multimedia

Moving on to feature side, the prime attraction of the phone is its music capabilities. It supports music player, video player and FM radio. User can click fine pictures with its 0.3 MP rear camera. Presence of 3.5 mm audio jack lets you to use any headsets for music.

Connectivity and Battery

The phone is GPRS and WAP enabled. Its Bluetooth feature helps to transfer pictures and audio files wirelessly and its USB support lets you transfer files from PC to phone and vice-versa. The device has a standard Li-ion battery of 600 mAh.

Other Features

It comes loaded with features like calender, clock, alarm clock, torch, organizer, downloadable ringtones and pictures.
