Overview

Non-Touchscreen Basic Featured Phone

ZTE Corporation is a Chinese multinational company that deals with telecommunication equipments and network solutions. It is among the top ten largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. ZTE has recently unveiled its ZTE F161 which is a non touchscreen basic featured phone. Its box contents includes a handset, battery, charger, earphone and user manual.

Design and Display

ZTE F161 has been carved in a bar shape with the front panel consisting of a TFT display, a control cluster and a stiff alphanumeric keypad. The control cluster includes four navigation keys around 'OK' button and separate keys for call pick and drop. On the other side, its back panel has a metallic finish and dual tone color combination. Its dimension figures includes height of 116.7 mm, width of 49.2 mm, thickness of 11.3 mm along with a weight of 84 grams.

Hardware and Software

QSC6240 chip powers the device and no other information regarding the chip is revealed by the company. Its little internal storage can be expanded up to 8 GB with a microSD slot.

Telephony and Messaging

It is a dual SIM phone that operates on 2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz and 3G network frequencies. On the messaging part, it supports SMS and MMS along with the support of T9 dictionary.

Camera

There is a 2 MP camera at the back with zoom and video recording features that provide a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. It also has a 0.3 MP camera at the front for the self clickers.

Entertainment

On the entertainment part, the phone comes loaded with the MP3 music player and MP4 video player. Along with that user can record videos, view images, play games or can set ringtone on the phone from its 64 inbuilt polyphonic ringtones. The device supports Java environment, so you can install java based games and apps. Plus availability of loudspeaker and 3.5 mm audio jack further increases its capabilities. User can also use the earphones to take calls while moving or for listening music.

Connectivity and Battery

On the connectivity part, it is GPRS and WAP enabled. Its micro USB and Bluetooth features helps in data sharing between compatible devices. It packs a Li-ion battery of 820 mAh which gives decent battery backup.
