XOLO Q900s is a window based smartphone announced in July, 2014. It is a dual SIM device which works on 2G (GSM 850 /900/1800/1900) and 3G (HSDPA 2100) network frequency. It is the lightest smartphone powered by Quad-core processor. Xiaomi Redmi 1S, XonPhone 5, Zenfone 5, Redmi Note and Xolo Q1011 are the competitors of this smartphone. The features and specifications of the device are discussed below:

Display and Dimensions

The dual SIM handset boasts a 4.7 inches LCD display that brings a resolution of 540x960 pixels along with 312 ppi pixel density and 16 million color support. The display is protected by scratch resistant Dragon Trail glass which protects the screen from scratches. It also features magnetometer, proximity, accelerometer and ambient light sensor. The dimensions of the handset are measured as 135.8 x 67.2 x 7.2 mm and carries a weight of 100 grams.

Processor and Operating System

The smartphone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly bean which is upgradeable to Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. It is powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor, Adreno 302 GPU and Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM 8212) chipset supplemented with 1GB RAM.

Camera and Storage

The Q900s has an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and digital zoom at its back which carries a resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. The PureCel sensor offers clear and bright pictures in both low and high light environment. On the other side, it also features 2.1 MP front camera for the purpose of video calling and selfies. In order to store files, documents and other important data, the device comes equipped with 8GB internal storage that can be further expanded upto 32GB by using memory card slot.

Battery and Connectivity

The smartphone is backed by a Li-Pol 1800 mAh battery that offers up to 23 hours talk-time and up to 263 hours stand-by time on 2G network and up to 14 hours talktime and up to 246 hours on 3G network. On the connectivity front, it is loaded with features such as USB, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, GPS, EDGE, GPRS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

Multimedia and Other Features

In order to pass free time, it is endowed with certain entertaining attributes like 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, image viewer, music player, video player, voice recording, video recording and games. The formats supported by the audio player includes MP3, AMR-NB, AAC LC wheres video codecs comprises MPEG4, H263 and H.264. The other features offered by the device are alarm clock, calendar, clock and organiser.
