Xolo is an Indian mobile manufacturing company which was founded in 2012. Its headquarters are located in Noida, New Delhi, India. The company has announced the Q500s IPS, a dual SIM smartphone in July, 2014. The handset comes in a pack with a charger, headset, battery, USB cable, user manual and a warranty card. Let's take a closer look at the specifications of this smartphone.

Design and Display

The Q500s IPS is a good looking phone which is easy to use and handle. It comes with a height of 125mm, width of 63.2mm and a thickness of 8.98mm as its dimensions. The front of phone is dominated by a IPS capacitive touchscreen of 4.0-inches which provides a resolution of 800x480 pixels and 233 ppi pixel density. It also features three feather touch soft keys which are well responsive to the touch signals. The device comes equipped with accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensors.

Hardware and Software

Powering the Q500s IPS is a Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor with MTK6582M chip-set and Mali 400-MP2 graphical processing unit. The phone has the capability to handle the on board apps as well. It has a RAM of 512 MB and an internal memory of 4 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The smartphone runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.

Telephony and Messaging

This dual SIM device operates on 2G (GSM 900/1800 MHz) and 3G (HSDPA 2100 MHz) network frequencies. The device has the capability to store a huge number of contacts in its phonebook memory. For messaging, the device is featured with SMS, MMS, IM and email facilities.

Camera

The Q500s IPS has a primary camera of 5 MP which is featured with a LED flash for low light conditions, digital zoom, fixed focus, face recognition, Geo-tagging, panorama for landscapes, smile shot, burst shot and HDR. It takes 2592x1944 resolution pictures. The VGA front-facing camera is also there for capturing 640x480 pixels resolution selfies and allows the users to video calling.

Multimedia

There is a FM radio and music player that offers enjoyable music experience. The smartphone is also capable of capturing full HD 1080p videos. The device comes pre-loaded with various apps for the users comfort. The Q500s IPS gives an enhanced browsing, gaming and watching experience.

Connectivity and Battery

There are stacks of connectivity options as well, the phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0, GPRS, EDGE, micro USB v2.0 high speed and hands-free connectivity. It also has GPS and assisted GPS capabilities in order to provide improved navigation facilities. The smartphone is fueled by a 1500 mAh battery which offers a talk-time up to 16.1 hours and standby time up to 700.9 hours on 2G network while a talk-time up to 7.6 hours and standby time up to 383.6 hours on 3G network.
