XOLO is an Indian brand that was formed in 2002. Since then it has been the first in many spheres like the world's first to introduce Intel processor in smartphones, the first to launch 4G network smartphone in India and the first brand to launch NVIDIA TEGRA 4 powered tablet in India. The good thing about XOLOis that it has a wide variety of budget handsets, camera's fixed with BSI and CMOS sensors and has a premium design in most of its handsets. Its Q1011 is one such handset packed with high end configuration and outstanding battery life.

Design and Display

XOLO has a stylish and slim body carved in a bar format. It comes packed in dimensions of 143.6 mm of height, 72.2 mm of width and 8.3 mm of thickness. The smartphone carries a LCD capacitive touchscreen of 5.5 inches that is based on OGS technology and provide a resolution of 720x1280 pixels along with 294ppi pixel density. The display comes with the 5 finger touch support and smart gesture features.

Hardware and Software

XOLO has given the phone some very impressive specifications. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor with Mediatek MT6582 chipset in it and comes assembled with 1 GB RAM to speed up the things. It has been mated with the latest Android v4.4 KitKat Operating System. The Mali-400MP2 Graphics processor helps in providing enhanced gaming experience to users. To store files and applications data, the Q1011 carries 4 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card. The availability of accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensors further enhance the operations.

Telephony and Messaging

The phone is compatible with dual SIM and operates on GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz and WCDMA 900 / 2100 MHz frequencies. SMS, MMS, Push Email, Email and IM are some of the facilities available on the messaging part. Along with that, voice memo has also been facilitated to send / receive audio messages.

Camera

The handset has an 8 MP rear camera with BSI sensor which serves up decent pictures. Besides basic functions like digital zoom, LED flash and auto-focus, it comes packed with enhanced features like geo-tagging, touch-Focus, panorama, face detection, HDR mode, low light enhancement, scene detection and tuning. Along with that it features Full HD video recording and video playback. There is a 2 MP secondary camera available that can come handy for self portraits and 3G calls.

Entertainment

To meet the entertainment needs, XOLO Q1011 comes installed with a MP3 music player and Android video player. Other than that, it has a video recorder, voice recorder, image viewer and embedded games. You can also edit your pictures and videos. Social networking services has also been included like Google Talk, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc. Plus the built-in HTML browser can be used to download all kinds of applications from the android market.

Connectivity and Battery

User can connect with the web using options like GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi Hotspot. The data is transferred to / from the web at HSDPA + speed which includes down-link speed of up to 21 Mbps and up-link speed of up to 5.76 Mbps. To enable data transfer, it has the Bluetooth and USB OTG support. Along with that, it has the inbuilt GPS support to help in navigation. On the battery front, it comes loaded with a Li-Po battery of 2250 mAh which ensures uninterrupted standby time of 550 hours and talktime of 26 hours.
