Videocon A17 is a low end affordable, attractive and user friendly smartphone. It was announced in July, 2014 with an affordable price tag. It is a dual SIM device which comes with dual stand-by functionality. It comes in a pack with a charger, handset, USB cable, battery, user manual and warranty card. The features and specifications of this handset are mentioned below:
Display and Dimensions
It is a bar shaped gadget which comes with a height of 114.5mm, a width of 63mm and a thickness of 11.8mm. It packs a 3.5 inch HVGA display that poses a resolution of 480x320 pixels and has the capacity to display a 262K colors. The company has also added Gyro sensor in the smartphone.
Processor and Operating System
The A17 is driven by a 1.00 GHz dual-core processor accompained by a 256MB RAM. It operates on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
Camera and Memory
It comes equipped with a 3.2MP camera at the rear side along with digital zoom and a 0.3MP shooter on the front panel. The picture resolution of the primary camera stands at 2048x1536 pixels while the secondary camera poses a resolution of 640x480 pixels. The smartphone has an onboard storage capacity of 2GB which can be extended upto 32GB by inserting memory card slot.
Connectivity and Battery
It incorporates a list of data and connectivity options like A-GPS, GPS, Bluetooth v3.0, GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. It does not support 3G network and works on only 2G (GSM 900 / 1800 MHz) network frequency. Under the hood, one will get a 1400mAh battery that gives long backup.
Multimedia
The android phone comes loaded with a host of multimedia features like 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, music player, video player supporting MP3,AAC,MPEG4,H.263,H.264, 3GP formats, voice recording, video recording and games. It comes with 2 pre-loaded applications i.e. Twitter and Facebook. For the purpose of texting, it supports SMS, MMS and Email services through which one can connect with other person via messages.
Other Features
Videocon A17 packs some basic and common features which comprises a alarm clock, organiser, SNS integration, voice memo and voice dialing. These attributes are considered as part and parcel of mobile.
