Overview

Average QWERTY Phone

Spice QT50 Design and Build Quality

The Spice QT-50 is a QWERTY dual SIM mobile phone. It measures about 110 mm x 58 mm x 13 mm, and weighs about 90 gm. Its outer shell is made of synthetic polymer material that has a significant lifespan. However, the screen size is quite small, which limits the multimedia uses of this features phone.

User Interface and Comfort to Use Spice QT50

The spice QT-50 has a 2.0-inch TFT display with 256 colors. This display projects about 352 x 288 Pixels on images. This is roughly 141ppi density per image, which is merely average in comparison to high-end Smartphones on the market. However, the QWERTY keypad is quite large and easy to use. It has a number of useful shortcuts including a central joystick that directly takes you to the inbuilt music player.

Telephony and Phonebook

The QT-50 operates on a GSM 900/1800 2G network for both SIM cards. Its internal memory allows up to 800 phonebook entries including caller groups. The call log usually displays the last 20 dialled, received, and missed calls.

Messaging and Email Capability

The Spice QT-50 is capable of sending and receiving text, multimedia, IM, and email messages. Its 1MB internal memory is quite small, but the phone is capable of storing up to 100 text messages. Text input is through predictive text, and messages are viewable in threaded form. The phone has a special button dedicated to text and email services. Email on the QT-50 is accessible via its WAP 2.0 x/HTML platform.

Gallery, Photo Viewer and Video Player

The QT-50 has an easy to view gallery for still photos. However, its low resolution is incapable of streaming high quality HD videos.

Spice QT50 Music Player and FM Radio

The Spice QT-50 has a standard music player with average output. The H.263 AAC+ player is capable of streaming MP3, MP4, MIDI, and .WAV song formats. The phone has an inbuilt radio with recording option. You can store numerous songs and audio content by purchasing a either 2 or 4 GB memory card.

Spice QT50 Camera and Image Quality

The Spice QT-50 has a 0.1megapixel CIF primary camera. This camera produces low quality images of about 288 by 352 Pixels. The camera also records low quality videos although some models have exposure compensation.

Spice QT50 Connectivity Options

Connectivity is a major downside of the Spice QT-50 phone. The phone has neither Bluetooth nor Wi-Fi capabilities. It does not have a USB port, and does not support EDGE or WLAN networking.

Organizer and Other Utility Tools

The Spice QT-50 has a standard organizer with a calendar, alarm, calculator, Unit converter, currency converter, and world clock. It also has an inbuilt flashlight.

Web Browser and Applications

The QT-50 accesses the internet via GPRS. Users can download general mobile web browsers such as Opera Mini, Bolt, and UC Browser. Users can also download light applications and games online depending on the added memory capacity present on their phones.

Value for Money and Verdict

The price of the Spice QT-50 ranges between 1,500 to 2,500 rupees (approx., may vary) depending on the retailer. The QT-50 is an average affordable features phone. It is ideal for basic calling, and messaging functions. Individuals in search of interactive entertainment and accessibility functions should look elsewhere.
