Spice Mi300 is a smart-phone that holds the enviable position of being India’s first Android phone produced in India by Spice Telecom. It operates on the Google Android OS platform and boasts 3G internet speeds as well as all the standard Smartphone features.
Spice Mi300 has an attractive face with a dashing black color and a stylish design. It has a capacitive LCD screen (touch screen).The phone weighs 114g and measures 114.9 x 56.8 x 12 mm. The screen can display 256K colors and has a pixel density of 180 ppi. The Spice Mi300 uses a standard Li-ion battery that can support 590 hours of talk-time when one uses the phone on the WCDMA network and 400 hours when used on the GSM network. Standby time also depends on the type of network and is 6 hours for WCDMA and 7 hours for GSM. The phone operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz as well as UMTS 900/1900/2100 MHz.
Spice Mi300 uses the Android OS and bears all the hallmark features of smart-phones. It is an exciting phone to use. It has a trackball and a touch-sensitive LCD screen that respond accurately to the touch. Most people find its user-comfort at par with other Android phones, and, in some cases, even better.
Spice Mi300 can support 2,000 contacts and store up to 500 SMSs.
Spice Mi300 supports SMS, MMS, IM, Email and Push Email. Email features include Gmail, POP3 and IMAP. There is no limit on the number of incoming SMSs.
Spice Mi300 has a good video camera that records video at 30fps.Videos are stored on an SD card. Video playback is available on widescreen at 30fps resulting in excellent video quality.
Spice Mi300 does not have an FM Radio. However, there is a music player and a speakerphone that can playback stored audio files.
Spice Mi300 comes with a 5.0 Megapixels single-touch camera together with a zoom and an LED flash. The zoom has 7 levels and pictures can be stored on a SD card. Image quality is excellent.
The phone has a good video camera that records video at 30fps and a good video player that plays back video at 30fps on a widescreen. Video format is WVGA (MPEG-4/H.263 / H.264). It also has an image editor.

Spice Mi300 comes with all the standard organizer tools such as calendar, alarm plus other extra features such as document viewer.
This phone uses a HTML browser. The phone also supports Java via the Java MIDP Emulator. Internet access speed is 3G WCDMA 7.2 Mbps. Social networking integration as well as Picassa integration are fully supported.
Spice Mi300 has both Google Maps and GPS
Being a Smartphone, the Spice Mi300 uses a touch screen with an accelerometer for a sensor. This makes it highly responsive to touch. It also supports Java through the Java MIDP Emulator. Picassa integration is enabled. Camera and video quality are excellent.
Spice Mi300 retails at Rs 9,900 (approx., may vary), which is quite cheap for a Smartphone. The phone’s has all the standard smart-phone features as well as high-speed 3G internet and is therefore a good buy.
Spice Mi300 is an excellent smart-phone with all standard Smartphone features and 3G internet. Although its internal memory is little bit low at 156 Mb, one can extend it further up to 32GB using a Micro SD memory card. It is definitely good value for money. At its average retail price of Rs 9,990 (approx., may vary), Spice Mi300 offers excellent value for money.
