Spice M4580 has a rather quaint unexciting look that is more reminiscent of older entry-level phones of 5-6 years ago. It comes in black and golden colors. It weighs 95 g and measures 106 x 44.5 x 15.5 mm. It has a display screen that measures 1.8 inches and can display 65K colors. The phone uses standard 1500mAh Li-ion battery that can support 10 hours of talk-time and 650 hours of standby time. The long-lasting battery is one of its strong points. It operates on a GSM network of 900 MHz and 1800 MHz frequency.
Despite being an entry-level phone, Spice M4580 is easy and comfortable to use. It is also lightweight and easy to carry around.
The contact storage capability of this phone can rival some higher-end phones since it can accommodate up to 1000 contacts.
Spice M4580’s in-built 2MB memory can support SMS, MMS and Email. It can store up to 300 SMSs.
This phone lacks a video player or a video recorder.
Spice M4580 comes with an in-built FM radio and Music Player. Sound quality is good. A user can play back stored audio files.
Spice M450 does not have a camera.
The connectivity options for Spice M4580 include 32-48Kbps GPRS Class 12 (4+1/3+2/2+3/1+4 slots). This phone does not support Wi-Fi, EDGE, Infrared and WLAN.
Spice M4580 comes with some standard organizer tools such as currency converter, voice memo as well as a dual LED torch.
This phone operates on 2G internet speeds and uses a WAP 2.0/XHTML browser. There are some pre-loaded games.
Spice M4580 does not have Google Maps and GPS
Perhaps the best feature of Spice M4580 is its exceptionally long-lived battery that can support 10 hours of talk-time and 650 hours when in standby mode. The phone book is also quite large and can store up to 1000 contacts. The phone also has a motion sensor.
Spice M4580 retails at an average price of INR 1737. The phone offers good value for money. Spice M4580 is essentially an entry-level phone. Apart from its motion sensor that is not usually standard in phones in its value range, all the other features are pretty commonplace. The lack of 3G internet obviously makes it a poor choice for heavy internet users, especially, the younger crowd that is keen on social networking and downloading numerous apps. Its large phone book, however, makes up for what it lacks in fancy features. Its battery has an exceptional long-life of 650 hours of standby time and supports 10 hours of talk-time. Audio playback quality is also remarkable for a phone in its class. Given the low price of 1737 it retails for, one cannot expect too much from this phone and it performs well for a basic phone.
