Spice M5250 is a candy bar style device that has an alphanumeric keypad. It sports a 2.2 inch screen and has a solid build quality.
Its slim design will make it easy to fit into your hands. It has an easy to use interface for simple functionality.
You can store up to 200 entries in your phone book memory. This entry level device will also store missed, received, and dialled calls.
You are able to send text messages with the M5250, but pictures are another story. Due to the alphanumeric keypad, texting is not going to be a smooth experience like you find with a full keyboard device. There is also no email support built into the device. It is not expected for a device in this category.
You are able to view videos on the player that are in MP4 and 3GP formats. There is a basic gallery that will allow you to view photos on the device as well. You must install a microSD card in order to use these features.
An FM radio will allow you to listen to any nearby FM station of your choice. You can also record a station for playback later. The music player will also require a microSD card to be installed on the device in order to listen to MP3, WAV, and MIDI files. There is a 3.5mm audio jack for headsets. Audio quality is adequate on the M-5250.
A 1.3 MP camera is not going be able to take the place of a standalone camera, but it will be adequate for use when you need.
Again, due to the low resolution and small screen size, taking video will not be the best experience on the M-5250. It is a feature that is available on the device and you will want to use sparingly.
Dual SIM capability will enable you to hop on GSM 900 and 1800 bands. There is also Bluetooth and USB support.
Basic tools are available on the M-5250 including an alarm, calculator, and calendar.
There is a WAP browser that you can use to hop on the internet, though it will not be feature that you will probably use much. The basic browser will have a tough time with media-rich websites.
Priced at Rs. 1530 (approx., may vary), the Spice M5250 is a well-priced device that gives you dual SIM capability and basic phone needs.
Talk time is rated at 8 hours and 350 hours of standby time.
If you are in the market for a basic device with dual SIMs, the Spice M5250 will deliver what you need. Call quality is good and the battery life is long. At the low price, you will not risk much invested in the device. Just don't expect any features to blow you away.
