Sony is the biggest name in the world of smartphones. Sony has announced the launch of its newest Android handset that is Sony Xperia Z4v. It is first wireless smart phone launched by the company. It shares some of its features with Sony Xperia Z4 but, there are some upgrades also in this device. Most notably one, The Sony Xperia Z4v has a 5.2 inch WQHD display and other most interesting feature is the built-in Qi and PMA wireless charging support. It is first wireless charging support smartphone launched by the company. Let's check-out what changes has been made by the company.
Talking about the design and display, the Sony Xperia Z4v is little heavier and thicker than its siblings. There are some visual differences in this new handset. Considerably, the secondary camera and sensors have swapped positions. In previous handsets, we saw the Sony logo on the top position but, now it has been moved downwards. While, the Verizon logo took the top position now. The device measures 144.4 x 72.3 x 8.7 mm and weighs around 162 grams. It supports for Nano SIM only. Similar to other Xperia handsets, the Z4v boasts IP65 and IP68 ratings for water and dust protection and the Triluminos display technology with X-reality engine for extra brightness and contrast screen.
Coming to the camera portion, there are no changes in camera pixels. It supports 20.7 MP primary camera with auto-focus, LED flash, ½.3” sensor size, geo-tagging, touch-focus, face-detection, HDR, panorama features. On the other hand, 5 MP front shooter is there to click self portrait and video calling. Primary camera supports video HD recordings at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, 720p@120fps with HDR. While front camera also shoot videos at 1080p@30fps along with HDR.
The Nano-SIM supporter Sony Xperia Z4v features a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 with Adreno 430 GPU and 3 GB RAM. So, you can enjoy seamless performance. Apart from this smartphone has a 32 GB in-built memory which can be further expanded up to 128 GB by using microSD card. Store as many as songs, videos, pictures in your smartphone with its huge memory expansion. It operates on Android OS, v5.0 Lollipop.
The smartphone is packed in a slightly bigger battery that is Li-ion 3000 mAh, instead of the Li-ion 2930 mAh battery which includes Quick Charge 2.0 technology from Qualcomm. It gives you a standby-time up to 590 hrs on 2G and 580 hrs on 3G. While talk-time up to 17 hrs on 2G and 20 hrs on 3G. You can charge 60% of your battery in not more than half an hour.
In terms of connectivity it offers 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, apt-X, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, microUSB v2.0 (MHL 3 TV-out), USB Host.
The smartphone is available in two bold colors White, Black. Though no official price announcements has been revealed yet. Its predecessor launched on verizon for $ 199 (INR 12,767) and the same price is expected for the Z4v.
