Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray ST18i is a mid-range android smartphone with impressive and stylish looks. It was announced in June, 2011 but released in August in the same year. The battery cover is covered with the gold color along with 2 vertical edges, while glossy black shade is used on the other parts of the mobile. It works on 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) and 3G (HSDPA 900 / 2100 - ST18i) network frequencies and sports mini-SIM.
The device features a 3.3 inches LED-backlit LCD capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The display is capable to exhibit 16M colors and carries a pixel density of 297 ppi. It looks like a traditional candybar mobile phone when you hold it in your hand. Talking about its dimensions it is measured as 111 x 53 x 9.4 mm and weighs at 100 grams. Other display features of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray are accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, multi-touch input method, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, touch sensitive controls, scratch-resistant display, and times cape user interface.
Xperia Ray ST18i runs on Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system and under the hood ticks a 1 GHz Scorpion Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor backed by 512MB of RAM.
Talking about the camera optics, it comes with a 8 MP auto-focus camera with LED flash that allows to capture high quality videos. At the front, the phone has 0.3MP camera which is used to enjoy the video calling. Additional features of the camera include geo-tagging, face and smile detection, touch focus and image stabilization.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray ST18i is loaded with 1GB internal memory and 32GB expandable memory along with the memory card slot which gives sufficient space for storing video and music files.
The handset is energized by Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery with a decent talktime of 7 hours and 430 hours of stand-by time. In addition connectivity features include 3G, GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, EDGE, microUSB v2.0 and GPS.
