Sony has launched Sony Ericsson P910 which is a smartphone introduced in 2004. Phone is equipped with full QWERTY keypad on the back of flip. Sony Ericsson has merely split and polished its aging P900 instead of redesigning it. Phone operates on Symbian OS with UIQ graphical user interface powered with ARM9 processor. Phone comes with same size and look as its predecessor P900 have. The biggest change is only the addition of a small QWERTY keyboard on the reverse side of the phone's flip. It sports a 2.9 inches TFT resistive touchscreen with 265000 colors and resolution of 208x320 pixels.
Sony Ericsson carries weight about 150 grams and have dimensions of 115x58x26 mm (4.53x2.28x1.02 in). The core applications have been supplemented by Music Player and Packet Video MPEG-4 music software and VGA camera with resolution of 640x480 pixels for stills and video. Phone is powered with Li-Po 1000 mAh (BST-15) which gives ability for a talk time up to 13hrs and stand-by up to 400hrs. On the whole P910's smartphone apps are 'just good enough'. But it can't really compete against Pocket PC platform, which has its own native Word and Excel editors and is much faster, but still does a decent job.
