Samsung is a world's leading manufacturer of electronic gadgets. The company has announced a new smartwatch the Samsung Gear 2 to the market in June, 2014. It measures 58.4 mm in height, 36.9 mm in width and 10.0 mm in thickness and weighs around 68 grams. The Gear 2 flaunts a 1.63-inches super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320x320 pixels. This smartwatch is dust and water resistant and is IP67 certified. It comes equipped with accelerometer, gyroscopic and HR sensors.

Powering the device is a dual-core processor along with a massive RAM of 512 MB and an internal storage of 4 GB. It runs on the latest Tizen operating system. Samsung Gear 2 has a 2 MP camera which is featured with an auto-focus. One can record 1280x720 HD resolution videos on to the Gear 2. The device supports popular audio formats that includes AAC, M4A, MP3 and OGG while video formats which are supported by Gear 2 are MP4 and 3GP.

Samsung Gear 2 allows you to make and receive calls. The device is powered by a standard 300 mAh battery that offers a typical usage time up to 2-3 days and a low usage time up to 6 days. Other features includes pedometer, heart rate, personalized fitness manager, smart relay, customizable themes, instant notification, exercise, schedule, music player, watch ON remote, media control, S voice, auto lock, voice memo and voice call.

Samsung Gear 2 shows compatibility with the devices that uses Android 4.0+ later. The connectivity options available for the Gear 2 are USB 2.0 and Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, AVRCP and HFP profiles. There is a SMS, MMS, Gmail and Email facility available for the device. It is available in four color options that are Charcoal Black, Wild Orange, Mocha Grey and Copper. This smartwatch is priced at Rs.21,550 approx.
