Samsung's is back with its flagship Galaxy series with the new Samsung Galaxy Y Duos Lite S5302. The curvy device is lightweight. Although the body is plastic, the material is well put toge3ther to give it a solid build. What's missing is a dedicated key for the camera and a front-facing camera.
Samsung's iconic TouchWiz runs over the top of an Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform. These two combinations make interacting with the S5302 simple. The small design will fit snugly in your hand without effort.
Access to your business/personal emails is easy with the email setup application. Whether you are setting up Outlook or Yahoo, your emails will be a button away from your viewing pleasure.
Due to the low resolution, the video player will not give you a good viewing experience. 3GP and MP4 video formats are supported with the WVGA resolution. The video that you do play on the player can be transferred to a TV or computer. What is nice is how the video player is embedded into the device for simple, easy operation.
A built-in Touch Wiz music player does not compromise the sound quality. It uses a DNSe sound enhancing sound technology and equalizer presets. When listening to music via the headphones, the audio quality is very good, but drops when placed on the loudspeaker. The stereo FM with RDS is best used with your headphones.
Geo-Tagging is enabled on the S5302's 2 MP camera. The lack of LED flash and auto focus means that you must have the proper light to take good shots. Due to the low processor, the speed in which you are able to snap up shots is slow.
The video camera suffers from the same struggles as the camera on the S5302. At 15 frames per second, you may get choppy videos.
Dual SIM capability with Standby allows you to separate your work and personal life with ease. 2G GSM networks 850, 900, 180, and 1900 are all supported bands. In addition, there is 3G HSDPA support in 900 and 2100 bands.
There are additional features like an organizer, alarm, clock, and office applications built into the S5302.
The pre-installed Android browser is by default your access to the web. You are able to access other browsers via the Google Play store. Other applications that come with the device include Chat On, Google Latitude, Google Talk, YouTube, Social Hub, and Messenger.
Google Maps with A-GPS support will help you get from point A to point B.
Comfortably priced at Rs. 6790 (approx., may vary), the S5302 is an affordable Android handset. There are some misses on the S5302 such as the low resolution camera and slow 832 MHz processor. The solid battery life, dual SIM support, and functionality over rides the issues to make the S5202 a good pick in a new device.
