Samsung Galaxy Y CDMA is a 3 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen smart phone. For anyone who was longing to possess this amazing phone can now rest assured that the phone is available in the Indian market. This phone is being retailed online by Flipkart.com. It is currently selling at Rs. 7490 (approx., may vary) and available on order. This is one of the ever best products of the Samsung Corporation. Apart from its LED full touch screen, the phone features a 2 mega pixel camera, a version 2.3 Android Operating System, a 600 MHz processor and a 3.5 mm jack. The phone also allows the user to create widgets that allow them to access applications on a mere touch of the screen. To further enhance the entertainment aspect of the Samsung Galaxy Y CDMA is the memory card slot that can hold a microSD card of up to 32 GB. The size of the phone allows easy hold and to easily slip it into the pocket or pouch.
The three inch touchscreen Samsung Galaxy Y CDMA I509 has stylish slim design. Made of the plastic moulding that has come to be traditional with the Galaxy series, the device has a solid build quality.
On the top of the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system is Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. This UI is simple to use and will make the device even more user friendly. An accelerometer, Proximity sensor, and digital compass are all sensors available on the device to help it run even smoother.
Email access is simple using the email setup that enables access to popular clients such as Yahoo, Hotmail, and others. You can send text messages and pictures from your device as well. The Swype makes it helpful when you are typing an email or text message.
The gallery will allow you to view your pictures on the device. You also have easy access to sending a picture message to a friend or uploading to Facebook or other social networks. Using the video player, you can view videos in 3GP, MPEG4, H.263 and H.264 file formats.
If you want to play your own music, make sure they are in MP3, eAAC, WAV, or MIDI file format. Otherwise, you can listen to a local FM radio station with the FM receive that is built in. Sound quality is good through the headphones. As a loudspeaker, it is not quite as clear or bass-friendly.
A 2 MP camera is not going to take the best shots and it is rather disappointing that the device has such a weak shooter. There are some nice features such as fixed focus, panorama, multi-touch zoom, and smile shot.
Video recording is available at 15 frames per second. You will want to make sure that the light conditions are adequate because the video quality is only decent.
What may be a drawback to the Galaxy Y is that it only supports CDMA in the 800 MHz band. 3.0 Bluetooth support, Wi-fi, and USB connectivity are all available.
The pre-installed Android browser is your gateway to the wide world web. Additionally t, the Galaxy Y has several important applications readily available. You have Facebook, YouTube, Google Talk, Instant Messaging, Latitude, and Twitter. Using Google's Play store, you can find other applications for download.
As an Android-based device, it is no surprise that Google Maps is the per-installed map application. The GPS itself take a little too long to find your location.
To get your hands on the Galaxy Y, you will need to have at least Rs. 7490 (approx., may vary) available. The strengths of this device lie in its call quality that is above average. Downsides will be lying in the battery life and poor camera quality. All in all, the Galaxy Y is a solid choice in your next Android device, despite its drawbacks.
