Overview
Dust and Water Proof Mid-Range Smartphone
By AmritSamsung Galaxy Xcover 3 is a mid-range Android smartphone announced in March, 2015. It is a dust and waterproof (IP67) device which comes with MIL-STD 810G certification. It can survive in water for up to half an hour. It is a successor to the rugged Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 which was launched in 2013. Its box contents include headset, battery, USB cable, user manual and warranty card. Let's have a quick look at the review of this smartphone.
Display and Dimensions
The smartphone has 3 physical buttons i.e. Recent, Home and Back which are easier to use with gloves than touchscreen controls. The device also comes with an Xcover key that turns on the flashlight while a double tap on it opens the camera. It measures 10 mm thick and weighs 154 grams. It has a 4.5-inch capacitive display with 480x800 pixels resolution. It offers a pixel density of 207ppi and shows off a color depth of 16 million. It is a multi-touch smartphone which features accelerometer sensor, proximity sensor and compass sensor.
Processor and Operating System
It is backed by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and works on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system which is said to be upgradable to Android Lollipop.
Camera and Storage
The handset comes equipped with a 5 MP rear camera with regular array of features like digital zoom, auto-focus and LED flash. It provides a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and via LED light you can click pictures even in low light conditions. It also supports 2 MP front facing camera for capturing selfies and making video calls. On storage part, it has 8 GB inbuilt memory which comes with microSD card support for further expandability up to 32 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 supports 3G, 4G, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, microUSB v2.0, GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi 8021.11 b/g/n connectivity options. The smartphone is fueled by a 2200mAh battery which provides considerable talktime.
