Samsung is a South Korean multinational company which was founded by Lee Byung-Chul in 1938. Its headquarters are located in Samsung Town, Seoul, South Korea. It is the world's leading manufacturer of electronic gadgets. The company has announced a new smartphone the Samsung Galaxy Star Advance in July, 2014. Let's take a look at the specifications of the phone.

Design and Display

The sheer slimness and compact form factor of the phone will amaze you. The device is light weighted and can easily fit into most palms. Samsung Galaxy Star Advance comes with a height of 130.2mm, width of 67.9mm and thickness of 9.8 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 138grams. The overall look of the phone is impressive with a LCD capacitive touchscreen of 4.3-inches which provides a resolution of 800x480 pixels. Below the screen, users get a hard press home button with feather touch back and option keys on its sides.

Hardware and Software

The Samsung Galaxy Star Advance is powered by a Dual-core 1.2 GHz processor accompanied by a RAM of 512 MB. The phone has enough power to handle the apps thrown on its way. It has an internal storage of 4 GB which can be expanded further up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. This smartphone is based on latest Android version 4.4 KitKat operating system.

Telephony and Messaging

This dual SIM device operates on Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and HSDPA 2100 MHz network frequencies. The smartphone has the capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts to its phonebook. The SMS, MMS, IM and email are the messaging facilities available for the device.

Camera

The device comes equipped with a 3 MP rear camera with an image resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. The camera features include a LED flash for low light conditions, auto-focus and digital zoom for better quality pictures. Unfortunately, the device does not have any front-facing camera for video calling purpose.

Multimedia

The Samsung Galaxy Star Advance has a good quality music and video player for the entertainment of users. The FM radio is also there which allows you to stay tuned and listen to your favorite songs. It comes pre-loaded with various apps like Facebook, Twitter, Google maps, Gmail, Google search and Google talk.

There are stacks of connectivity options as well, the phone supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB, hands-free, GPS and A-GPS. The device comes equipped with a Li-ion 1800 mAh battery to ensure a good usage time.

The Samsung Galaxy Star Advance is available in two common shades which are Black and White. The expected market price of this smartphone is Rs. 7,300 approx, may vary.
