The Galaxy Grand Quattro I8552 is Samsung's cheapest quad- core smartphone announced and released in May, 2013. It has a same design as the other Galaxy handsets with chrome finish and curved corners all round. It is a dual SIM smartphone which comes in a small box with all the contents including earphones, charger, microUSB cable, user manual and warranty card. Let's dive into the complete review:
It flaunts a 4.7- inch capacitive touch screen display at a resolution of 800x480 pixels and 199 ppi pixel density. It comes with 16 million color support. It is a multi- touch smartphone and comes with a height of 133.3mm, a width of 70.7mm and a thickness of 9.7mm. It carries a weight of 143.9gm. The proximity sensor is present right next to the camera. The device has chrome finish on the sides. It looks like metal but in actual it is plastic. The handset has Digital Compass and Accelerometer, but it misses the Gyro sensor and the ambient light sensor. The home button is present below the display. The menu and back buttons are present on either sides. These are backlit and provides haptic feedback. The power button is present on the right side. On the left side there is a volume rocker.
It is backed by a 1.2 GHz Quad- core Cortex- A5 processor paired with Qualcomm MSM8625Q Snapdragon 200 chipset and Adreno 203 GPU. It comes packed with 1GB RAM in order to store files, documents, movies and songs.
The 5MP auto focus takes decent pictures in daylight. It has LED flash for low- light imaging. It can record videos at 480p resolution (480x720 pixels) at 30fps. The video quality is decent and the audio is also good even though the handset is devoid of secondary microphone. The 0.3MP shooter is present at the front panel which is used for selfies and video calling. As far as storage is concerned, it comes equipped with 8GB internal memory which is further expanded up to 32GB by using microSD card.
In the terms of internet and connectivity, it has several features like 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB v2.0, A- GPS, EDGE, GPRS and Wi-Fi. Under the hood, it is fueled by a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery which offers a talktime of up to 11 hours and standby time of up to 210 hours.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro is available in two shades i.e. Titan Grey and Ceramic White. It costs Rs. 12000.
