Panasonic, a brand that has been associated with electronics products and home appliances, have also plunged into smartphone business also. The company was founded on March 13, 1918 headquartered in Kadoma, Osaka in Japan. Panasonic released Panasonic Eluga Android smartphone in Feb, 2012. With the release of this smartphone, they returned to the overseas market. Panasonic Eluga Power is the second Android smartphone in company's Eluga line-up. This 'Eluga 39' series of smartphones was launched in the European market back in 2012. Let's have a closer look at its specifications

Design and Build Quality

The company has described its Eluga smartphones as 'Elegance for a new generation.' It is a smartly designed android smartphone having a rectangular shape. An interesting feature of this phone is that it is a waterproof and dust-proof phone with IP57 certification. It can withstand submerging in water up to 1 meter and 30 minutes. It lacks in terms of operating system, that is, Android OS, v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which is an outdated operating system. It is a sleek and stylish handset and company hasn't placed any buttons on the left and right sides of the phone. Only Power/lock and volume up down buttons have been placed on the rear side of the phone. Eluga Power has a big screen, which is easy to use and we can type easily using one hand with the keyboard being well spaced and accurate.

Display

It features a 5-inch IPS LCD display screen with 720x1280 pixels of screen resolution that most of the android smartphones are now shipping with. Pixels per inch is the unit to measure display sharpness. At 294 ppi, this phone gives better sharpness and brightness. The display supports 16 million colors. It comes with a height of 136mm, width of 70mm and thickness of just 9.6 mm. It weighs around 133 gms. The phone uses a touch screen keypad to capture user input which is user friendly.

Processor and Memory

It is powered by a Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor which keeps the phone running briskly. The phone is coupled with a 1 GB of RAM and Qualcomm MSM8270 Snapdragon chipset.

Telephony And Messaging

It operates on 2G and 3G network and supports a single SIM. It can store unlimited no of contacts and SMS. It comes with active noise cancellation option with dedicated mic.

Camera And Image Quality

The rear portion of the phone is equipped with 8 MP camera with auto-focus and geo-tagging options. For video chat and self-portrait shots, Panasonic has added a front camera as well. It's 8 MP primary camera can click images at a high resolution of 3264x2448 pixels.

Multimedia

The camera can shot videos at a high resolution of 1080p @ 30fps. For entertainment, the Eluga features a good video and audio apps, audio and video player etc. The smartphone does not have a support for FM radio.

Connectivity Options

The device is full of multiple connectivity options such as the Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, NFC, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, microUSB v2.0, 3G, GPRS, EDGE etc. It supports data speed HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps.

Battery and Storage

It comes with 8 GB of in-built storage, making it a good choice for storing a moderate amount of media. If this much of internal memory is not enough for storage of your data, you can expand it upto 32 GB with the help of a microSD card. It is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery. It can gives you only 6 hrs of talktime which is less than an average smartphone. 50% battery can take 30 minutes for charging and 80% in just 57 minutes.
