Orange is preparing to launch a smartphone titled the Santa Clara. It will be the first smartphone that offers an Android OS that is Medfield-powered. Expected to arrive later this year, it has many similarities with Intel’s reference design. The phone is fitted with a 4 inch display screen that packs in a resolution of 600 x 1024, giving you a vivid and bright display of photos and videos. An 8 MP camera is equipped with an LED flash and is capable of taking 10 shots in 1 second using the burst capture feature. The Santa Clara is backed by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor.
This is enough to power the Android Gingerbread (v 2.3) OS and give super fast processing and browsing capability to the phone. Orange has also announced bringing in ICS shortly after its launch. Other features include HD voice calling, built in gesture navigation and a mobile wallet service by Orange. A 14 day standby and 8 hours of 3G phone calls are possible using lower power. Not only is this phone power efficient but is packed with a powerful processor. Design is simple and minimalistic. Santa Clara will be available in a black colored stylish case.
