Oppo is an electronics manufacturer which was founded in 2004 and is based in China. The company has announced the N3, a smartphone in October, 2014. It comes in a pack with a charger, battery, head-set, USB cable, user manual and warranty card. The phone is discussed in detail below.

Design and Display

The N3 has an extremely stylish and edgy design that makes it stand out from the crowd. The device is crafted from robust industrial grade aluminum alloy 7075 micro-arc frame. It has got a height of 161.2 mm, width of 77 mm and thickness of 8.7 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 192 grams. The front is dominated by a 5.5-inch full HD capacitive display with a resolution power of 1920x1080 pixels. It has a multi-touch input method and ability to display 16 million colors. The sensors include distance, ambient light, proximity, G-sensor and 4D gyroscopic.

Hardware and Software

In terms of hardware, the device packs a Quad-core 2.3 GHz processor accompanied by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AA chip-set and Adreno 330 graphical processing unit. It has a 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory for huge data storage. The user can also increase the storage via micro SD card up to 128 GB. It runs on the Android version 4.4 KitKat operating system to ensure a snappy performance.

Telephony and Messaging

The N3 operates on 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz), 3G (HSDPA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz) and 4G (LTE 700 / 800 / 900 / 1700 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 MHz) network frequencies. The device has the capability to store an unlimited number of contacts to its phonebook. For messaging, it offers SMS, MMS, IM, email and push email like services which are featured with predictive text input for easier typing.

Camera

The smartphone comes equipped with a brilliant 16 MP swivel camera which has the ability to take 4608x3456 resolution pictures. The camera features include dual mode LED flash, touch-focus, Geo-tagging, smile and face detection, auto-focus, motorized rotating lens via on-screen gestures/ O-Click remote control, 1/2.3'' sensor size, 1.34µm pixel size, HDR and panorama. This 16 MP camera also act as a front camera which enables the users to do video calling and capturing selfies. It also features auto-focus and LED flash.

Multimedia

The audio player of phone offers a clear and crisp sound whether you use a pair of earphones or a loudspeaker. One can record and play full HD videos on the device. It comes pre-loaded with various apps for the users comfort. The built in browser is quite fast and perform searches as well. There is no FM radio present in this phone.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity attributes of the device includes GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, micro USB v2.0, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, GPS and A-GPS with GLONASS for improved navigation. Backing the device is an Li-Po 3000 mAh battery.
