Obi Worldphone SF1 is a premium-designed smartphone announced in August, 2015. It is the company's 2nd attempt to prove its brilliance in the Indian smartphone market after a failed attempt mid last year. It has been designed by San Francisco based Ammunition design studio, which has clients like Skype, Citibank, Intel and others. It is available in two variants - 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory variant priced at $199 (approximately Rs 13,000), while a 3GB RAM and 32GB model comes between $199-to-$249 (approximately Rs 16,500 max). Under the box it has contents like headset, USB cable, user manual and warranty card. Lets have a look at the review of this smartphone.
It has a 5-inch full HD JDI In-Cell IPS floating glass capacitive multi-touch screen with 1920x1080 pixels resolution. It offers incredible brightness, rich contrast and amazing color clarity. It throws a color depth of 16 million. In order to protect device from scratches and other physical damages, it comes crafted with 'Corning Gorilla Glass 4' protection. It has a fiberglass body and metal accents at the top and bottom of the smartphone. It measures 146x74x8mm and weighs 147 grams. It packs proximity sensor, gyroscope sensor, ambient light sensor and accelerometer sensor.
Obi uses a 1.5GHz octa-core processor which is further integrated with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset and Adreno 405 graphic processing unit which enhances your video watching and gaming performance. Obi has introduced this device in two RAM versions i.e. 2GB and 3GB. It runs on Android v5.0.2 (Lollipop) operating system which is the newest version of Android.
The device has a 13MP camera with LED flash, Sony IMX214 sensor, Hybrid auto focus for fast focus and a 5MP front shooter with LED flash to capture better selfies. It also features Dolby Audio that promises powerful and crystal-clear surround sound through speakers and headphones. It comes in two memory variants which includes 16GB and 32GB along with 64GB expandable memory and microSD card.
It is a dual SIM smartphone having support of 2G, 3G and 4G networks. The other connectivity options comes loaded with this device are A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, microUSB, GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi. A 3000 mAh battery powers up to 20 days standby time, up to 28 hours talk time and up to 10 hours video playback time.
The Obi Worldphone SF1 comes in 'Red' shade and offered in 2 variants, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM with a price tag of $199 and the 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM model will set you back at $249.
