The Nokia C7 is an ultra-modern phone from Nokia. It is well endowed with good features that include big memory. The phone has an internal memory of 8 GB. This enables it to keep many files that include different multimedia items. The phone has a touch screen that responds very fast. Nokia C7 is loaded with an accelerometer that changes the screen from landscape to portrait and vice versa. Since the phone does not have a hardware keyboard. It uses a multi touch system. This is efficient since different input devices are spread well on the keyboard. The screen is scratch resistant. It displays good photos even when one is outside. This is because it does not reflect light. Phones of this kind are very easy to use.
Built with a curved, chromed-edge look; the super glossy Nokia C7 seems very much targeted at the female market. Built on a candy bar form factor, the combination of plastic and metal give it a durable feel. This gives it a good build quality overall.
You will get a pure form of Nokia's Symbian operating system. Zits home screen allows you to host up to six widget blocks per page. Pre-loaded widgets include the Paramount Teaser Trailers and generic Symbian widgets.
Texting on the C7 will allow for a portrait numeric or landscape QWERTY keyboard. Though the 3.5 inch screen will be a bit tight for inputting characters, the touchscreen is overall responsive. You also have the ability to send and receive picture messages and log into your email accounts.
Your photo viewer will also give you the ability to editing software to correct photos that you take. You are able to watch videos via the player that is built into the device.
The music player will allow you to view tracks by song, playlist, genre, and podcast. A link to the Ovi music store also enables you to purchase more music. The music application is very smooth and usable. Speaker quality is OK though it could have benefited from a stereo output. The 3.5mm headphone experience will be much better than using the loudspeaker.
As far as camera options go, the C7 has face detection, scene mode, self-timer, color tone, white balance, exposure, ISO, sharpness, and adjustable contract. The 8 MP camera benefits from the camera editing software on the device that allows you to fix the shots that you do take.
A video recorder will capture in HD, VGA, and low resolution for sending video messages. The device isn't marketed heavily as an HD camera and this is more than likely due to performance. Video capture is largely unimpressive.
In terms of connectivity, the C7 is well-equipped. You can access 2G GSM networks in the 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 bands. There is also HSDPA 3G network support in 850, 900, 1700, 1900, and 2100 bands. Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-fi, USB GPRS, and NFC support are all available on the C7.
You can view word, excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files on your device. In addition, there is also an Adobe Reader.
The Symbian web browser doesn’t have the speedy performance that you would expect.
There is a TV-out option as well as Web TV capability. Two microphones are present on the C7 enable one dedicated to actively cancel distracting noises.
The market price for a Nokia C7 is roughly Rs 16515 (approx., may vary). Overall, the Nokia C7 delivers a good phone experience with great call quality. For the price, you get a great multimedia device. This is definitely a great buy for high end smartphone users.
