Nokia 114 is a mid-range priced, low cost Dual-SIM phone from Nokia that the company launched in November 2012.
Nokia 114 has a rather plain uninspiring look that is more common with Nokia’s lower end phones. The phone is available in a variety of colors such as cyan, black, and magenta. It comes in a 1.8-inch TFT display screen capable of displaying 65K colors. Nokia 114 is a mid-sized phone that measures 110 X 46 X 14.8 mm and weighs 80 g. This phone comes with a 1020 mAh battery that can support ten and a half hours of talk time as well as 637 hours of standby time. It operates on a dual-band 900/1800 MHz GSM network.
Nokia 114 uses the Nokia OS Series 40-6th Edition Operating System. Its user interface is plain and simple to use. It has a 16 MB internal memory that and a capacity to accommodate a 32GB external MicroSD card.
Nokia 114 can support 1000 phonebook entries and store up to 500 SMSs.
This phone supports a wide range of messaging platforms including SMS and MMS and IM as well as email and Push Email.
This phone has a medium-quality 176x144 Pixels video camera that records video at 15 fps, which is an average frame capture rate. Picture quality for video playback is quite good.
This phone has both an MP3 and MP4 music players that deliver high quality sound. It also comes with a good-quality stereo FM Radio player with RDS.
Nokia 114 has a medium quality 640 x 480 pixels primary camera with a 4X digital zoom, but lacks a secondary camera. Picture quality is average.
The connectivity options for this phone include:
Support for Java is available, which is a strong feature for this phone especially considering that there are many high-end phones that do not offer Java support.
Nokia 114 comes with most of the standard organizer tools such as Calendar, Currency Converter, Calculator, and World Clock, just to mention a few.
Nokia 114 uses a WAP 2.0/ xHTML web browser. It comes with a number or pre-installed games and SNS applications.
This phone has neither Google Maps nor GPS.
Nokia 114 supports Java, which is quite surprising since many higher-end phones do not.
Nokia 114 retails at an average price of Rs 2,249 (approx., may vary), which is quite low. Its strongest selling point is Java support, which is a surprising inclusion for a phone in that price range. Although the phone does not have a secondary camera and its primary camera is somewhat unimpressive, it is, nevertheless, still considerably better than other phones in its value range. The unavailability of 3G internet speeds also means slow internet access and download times, but the phone makes up for this shortcoming by offering a wider range of messaging platform such as email, Push Email and IM. Overall, the phone is quite impressive and reliable.
