Nokia 105 is a very simple phone with basic functionality. In the world of smartphones, Nokia 105 fulfils the niche for low cost and high quality handsets.
The phone is a very basic looking bar shaped phone. The screen size is 1.4 inch and the total phone dimensions are 44.8x107x14.3 mm. The phone weighs only 72 grams. The hone is very comfortable to use and handle. The phone comes with an alphanumeric keyboard that is dust proof and spill proof. The keyboard is easy to use and the keys are very comfortably placed. The battery of the phone will last for about 5 days with mediocre use. For people who travel a lot and not always have access to charging points this phone is very ideal to use. The phone is available in two colours black and cyan.
The phone comes with very-very basic features. It is very easy to navigate and you can view all the options by pressing the navigation or menu key. We liked the phone for its simplicity, the keys are all backlit and therefore no problems in reading in the dark. The screen colours are not very sharp but are very bright. During the review period, the phone did not hang once. However, the OS of the phone is very slow to respond and takes time to search and other functions.
The phone supports single SIM GSM operations. The call quality of the phone is good and it picks up signals very neatly. However, the call sound is not up to the mark and the sound leaks from the backside. The phonebook is very simple, you can just add contacts. There is no option to search a particular contact by typing first few words, you have to go through the view all option and see the whole list. Phone book capacity is 500 contacts.
You can send and receive SMS from the phone. There is not option to select multiple messages for deletion, which makes deleting messages a tedious task.
The phone has a FM radio but it is very basic and does not latch on to weak signals very well. The audio quality is decent at its best. No earphones come with the phone so you will have to buy them separately.
USB as a connectivity option is available on the phone but it can only be used for charging purposes.
Games, Mini SIM, Digital Clock, Calculator, Flash Light, Clock, Calendar, Converter, Speaking Clock, Expense Manager, Alarm and PIN Code Security are few of the tools that are available on the phone. The calendar does not have the repeat options.
The two distinctive features of the phone are the powerful torch light and the speaking clock.
The phone is priced at INR 1100 (approx., may vary) in India. The price of the phone is up to the Nokia Standard.
Judging the phone on its quality, alone we would rate it a 4.2 stars out of 5.
