In February, 2015 Motorola announced the second generation Moto E smartphone alongside the 4G variant of the handset. The Indian smartphones segment is already lined up with some 4G powered handsets priced below INR 10,000, namely Micromax's Yu Yureka (Rs. 8,999), Lenovo A6000 (Rs. 6,999), Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G (Rs. 9,999)- the Moto E (Gen 2) is another entrant in the segment. One of the main highlights of this handset is Android 5.0 Lollipop which make this first smartphone from Motorola running the latest Android version out-of-the box introduced under INR 10,000. Let's have a look at the review of this smartphone.
The 4G enabled smartphone packs a 4.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 960x540 pixels. It comes with a color depth of 16 million and 245ppi pixel density. It is a multi-touch smartphone which comes coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which protects the screen from scratches and fingerprints. It is a bar shaped smartphone which has a height of 129.9 mm, a width of 66.8 mm and a thickness of 12.3 mm. It weighs at 145 grams. It supports proximity sensor and accelerometer sensor.
At the heart of the device it has 1.2 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A53 processor which works well with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset and Adreno 306 GPU. It comes packed with only 1 GB RAM which is normal to run different applications. It runs on latest version of Android i.e. Android v5.0.x (Lollipop) which acts as a great tool for the proper functioning of the device.
Motorola Moto E (Gen 2) 4G comes equipped with 5 MP auto-focus rear shooter which offers a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. It supports features like panorama, HDR, digital zoom and geo-tagging. You can record 720p videos at 30 frames per second. If you want to click selfies or to do video calls, you can use the VGA camera fixed at the front panel. It delivers a resolution of 640x480 pixels. It comes with 8 GB of in-built memory which supports expandable storage through microSD card (up to 32GB).
The handset includes 3G, 4G, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/A-GPS, microUSB v2.0, EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi connectivity options. It packs a large Li-Ion 2390 mAh battery through which you can enjoy long talks.
The smartphone comes in two shades i.e. Black and White and has a price of INR 9,000.
