Overview

Android Based Smartphone With Massive Battery Backup

The Motorola FIRE XT311 is a Mini SIM Android smartphone released in September, 2011. It is available in the market in Black shade only at a price of Rs. 5,250.

Processor and OS

At the heart, it packs a 600MHz ARM-11 processor with Qualcomm MSM7227-1 chipset, Adreno 200 GPU and 256MB of RAM which is enough according to the price range. Operating the device is an Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system that is an outdated version.

Display and Dimensions

The XT311 comes with a 2.8-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 240x320 pixels. The screen flaunts 256K colors depth and 143ppi pixel density. With the thickness of 13.5mm and weighing at 110 grams, the phone is a bit bulky and lightweight. The measure of the height and width is 116.5mm and 58mm.

Camera and Storage

The devices comes bundled with 3.15MP rear camera with a digital zoom, which provides a picture of 2048x1536 pixels resolution and video at a resolution of 480p@24fps. There is no front camera available on the phone. For data storage, the phone comes loaded with 512MB ROM which can be further expanded upto 32GB with the help of microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

The Fire XT311 supports 2G (GSM  850/900/1800/1900MHz) as well as 3G ( HSDPA 900/2100MHz) network frequencies. It has a Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR. It provides a speed of 7.2Mbps with HSDPA network and a speed of 384Kbps with HSUPA network. For internet surfing, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support. The 1420mAh battery present under the hood offers a standby time of 720 hours (3G) and a talk time of 9 hours 16 minutes on 2G network.
