Microsoft has announced a new smartphone called the 'Lumia 535' on 11th November, 2014. It is the first smartphone that has the Microsoft branding and is based on the Windows OS. Let's take a closer look at the specifications of this mobile phone.
The Lumia 535 is stylish as far as looks are concerned. It comes with a plastic body that imparts it a cheap look. On the other part, it is dipped in attractive shades that makes it look more luscious and eye catching. The phone is easy to use and can easily fit into most palms. It has got a height of 140.2 mm, width of 72.4 mm and thickness of 8.8 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 146 grams. The front panel of phone is dominated by a 5.0-inches Quad HD, True color, IPS LCD display which has a resolution power of 960x540 pixels and 220 ppi pixel density. The display features includes brightness control, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, orientation sensor, tactile feedback, high brightness mode, sunlight readability enhancements and scratch resistant glass.
Powering the smartphone is a Quad-core processor that has a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and an enough power to handle the apps. The device comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chip-set. The Lumia 535 runs on the Windows 8.1 operating system which comes with Lumia Denim. It is coupled with a RAM of 1 GB and an internal storage of 8 GB which can be expanded upto 128 GB with the help of a microSD card. The device also comes with a free cloud storage of 15 GB.
This dual SIM device operates at 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and 3G (HSDPA 900/2100 MHz) network frequencies. The user can store an unlimited number of contacts to its phonebook memory. The messaging facilities available for the device are SMS, MMS, email, push email and IM. It is also featured with a predictive text input which helps in typing.
The 5 MP rear camera comes loaded with a number features like auto and manual white balance, automatic photo upload to OneDrive, auto-focus and LED flash. It can capture 2592x1944 resolution pictures at its maximum. The secondary camera also has a 5 MP count which allows the user to make a video call, video recording and still image capturing.
The networking and connectivity options available for the device include 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB v2.0, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS with A-GPS support and hands-free connectivity. Backing up the device is a BL-L4A 1905 mAh battery which delivers a talk-time up to 11 hours on 2G network and up to 13 hours on 3G network along with a standby time of 23 days. It also offers up to 78 hours of music playback time and a video playback time of 6.5 hours.
