Micromax X600 is a simple touchscreen phone, which was launched in the year 2010. It is also commonly known as the gravity phone.
The phone’s design looks somewhat inspired by other high-end smartphones. The phone is a touch screen phone. The phone has two speakers phone can you just have to turn the phone either way to switch between the two SIMs. The design of the phone is sharp with slightly curved edges. The dimensions of the phone are 113mm x 56mm x 12.7mm and weight is 110g. The phone has a 3.2-inch touch screen. The battery life of the phone is just about 5 hours with regular use. The Micro SD card support on the phone is up to 4GB only.
Micromax X600 has a 3.2-inch TFT resistive display, which is average in terms of clarity. The phone’s OS has a good speed. The phone has a gravity sensor and can shift between dual SIMs. The interface of the phone is comfortable to use but keypad keys are little closely place for our liking. Typing fast SMSs can be a real task on this phone.
The phone only supports 2G network. The phone is Dual SIM. The phone call voice quality is good if you are sitting in a closed room or office but if you are in a crowded place then the noise cancellation is very bad. The speakerphone on the phone leaves a lot to be desired and the sound quality is pathetic. The phonebook can save up to 1000 entries and there is an option of photo call available on the phone.
You can send MMS and SMS from the phone. To check the emails you will have to use the browser on the phone and there is no dedicated mail app available. The SMS capacity is limited to a 1000.
The photo and gallery features of the phone are very simple. The scrolling between the photos is not smooth because of the resistive touchscreen. The video player on the device supports AVI, 3GP and MP4 formats. However watching videos in the phone is just a passable experience.
The FM radio on the phone has a recording feature, which records very clear voice. The music quality on the phone is very good and we wonder why the same has not been extended to the speakerphone. The music player supports all formats. The earphones that come with the phone are of ok quality.
The phone has a basic 2 MP camera with no flash or any other feature. The photo resolution of 1600x1200 pixels is quite decent but the camera quality is so poor that you would not want to take photos from it.
The video quality on the phone is very poor and we recommend that you use it only for emergency purposes.
Bluetooth A2DP, EDGE, GPRS and WAP are the connectivity options available on the phone. The phone does not have Wi-Fi.
Alarm, Calendar, Clock, calculator and convertor are the utility tools available on the phone.
The phone has opera mini browser and supports WAP 2.0. The Web browser interface is mediocre. The applications include Facebook, Twitter, and multi messaging app Nimbuzz.
The most distinctive feature of the phone is the gravity sensor, which makes switching between SIMs easier.
The phone is priced at around INR 4000 (approx., may vary) in the Indian Market. The phone does not fulfill the requirements of what you would except of even a low budget phone in the market.
The phone is not we would recommend as a best buy. We would rate the phone is 2.5 starts out of 5.
