Micromax X505 Psych is a dual SIM phone with very basic features to suit an average user.
Micromax X505 Psych comes in two colours black and white. The phone’s dimensions are 104.8x56x12.9mm with 2.8-inch display. The phone is very comfortable to use in hand. The body is made of plastic but feels very tough to touch. The phone has a talk time of about 3 hours and 30 minutes, which is not much considering that it is a music phone. The phone will impress you with its seamless body.
The phone has a 2.8-inch touch screen with 240x320px display. The touchscreen calibration of the phone is not very good but still passable. The dimensions of the screen prevent the keypad from being user friendly and if you have stubby fingers, then typing can be a real pain. One thing you have to give the phone credit for is that it is fast. The phone has an internal memory of 25MB, which can be extended up to 8 GB with a micro SD card. It is a dual SIM phone and switching between the SIMs requires some getting used to but it is convenient.
The call quality of the phone is good. The phonebook is simple and you can store up to 2000 entries in the phone. There is no 3G function available on the phone.
Micromax X505 Psych supports SMS, MMS, and Email
capabilities.
The functions are very basic.
The phone’s gallery can be accessed from the menu itself. The photo viewer is simple with basic scroll and zoom functions. The video player of the phone supports MP4, 3GP and AVI formats. The video player is very smooth but does not play HD videos.
Music is the area where this phone excels above other phones in its category. The phone comes preloaded with MTV content, SRS WOW HD, and Yamaha Audio Amplifier. Listening to music on this phone is definitely a treat to the ears. The phone supports midi, mp3, mp4, wav and amr file formats.
Micromax X505 Psych has a 2MP back camera with 1600x1200 pixels of photo resolution. The camera supports 4x digital zoom. The photo quality of the phone is not good. The photos appear out of focus and lack of flash makes it very difficult to take decent photos.
The video camera of the phone is basic and you can record videos that can be viewed over the phone only. On the computer, the videos look horribly pixelated.
The phone supports GPRS, WAP, and EDGE. There is no Wi-Fi and 3G option on the phone. Bluetooth and USB connectivity make it easy to connect to the PC.
Micromax X505 Psych has alarm clock, calendar, calculator, convertor, and clock are the utility tools on the phone.
Integrated opera mini browser makes it possible to check your email on the phone. But we would hardly call it a pleasurable experience. The zoom capability is horrible and there is no facility to edit anything. The inbuilt applications include Facebook, Snaptu, and Nimbuzz.
No GPS is available on the phone.
The phone is priced at INR 3200 (approx., may vary) in the Indian market. For people who need to keep two numbers this phone is perfect with Dual SIM functions.
