This 2.8 inch TFT resistive touchscreen has a candy bar body style. Because it is a low end touchscreen device, the build quality will not feel like a high end device.
Resistive touchscreens require you to put pressure on the area of touch in order to sense it. The 3 layers of touchscreen make it difficult to comfortably navigate through.
You have the ability to save up to 100 entries into the touchscreen device. There is also a call recording feature that you can use while you are on calls. There is also a call recording feature that you can use while you are on calls. You can also save your missed, received, and dialled phone numbers.
Both picture and text messages are supported on the X333. With no native email support, there is not an easy way to access your emails.
The gallery allows you to view photos, though the touchscreen has such a low resolution, these shots will look choppy. You are able to play videos in MP4, 3GP, and AVI format, but once again, it will look extremely choppy on the device.
A FM radio will enable you to listen to live music. If you prefer your own, you can play MP3, WAV, AMR files via the loud speaker. Audio sounds tinny through its loud speaker so you may want to purchase a good headset instead. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the device.
The VGA 0.3 MP camera will hardly take shots that are worth any quality. You will find yourself using sparingly, if at all due to the low resolution. Any adverse lighting condition will make your photo shoots completely over-exposed. There is also no flash capability though there are multi-shot, zoom level, and brightness options.
While you are able to record video, there is little reason to use the X333 for this purpose other than a last resort.
Dual-SIM capability also gives you the ability to standby as well. You have GSM support in 900 and 1800 MHz bands.
A generic organizer comes with the Micromax X333.
There is GPRS support and a WAP 2.0/xHTML built-in browser. This gives you a decent web browsing experience.
GPS is not available as a feature on the Micromax X333.
Some notable features that the device does have is a e-book reader and anti-theft tracker.
Pricing on the X333 starts at INR 2599 (approx., may vary), making it an affordable touchscreen. You will need to purchase a microSD additionally for any media features that you will want to use. It supports up to 8 GB card.
Battery life on the X333 is very low, with 3 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby.
Other than if you really want a touchscreen device and don't have a whole lot of money to work with, there really is no reason to pick up this device. Even then, the poor quality in the features is a complete turnoff.
