Micromax X111 is an entry-level bar phone by Micromax telecom of India. This tiny low-budget phone operates on a single SIM.
Micromax X111 looks very flashy for a phone in its price range. Its body has an attractive silver or golden glossy finish. It has an attractive 1.4 inch CSTN color screen capable of displaying 65K colors at a 128 x 128 Pixels resolution (129 ppi). The phone is tiny and measures a mere 88 x 48 x 11 mm while weighing in at a paltry 69g.Its bears a 5-way navigation key as well as a marble keypad that is attractive and water resistant. Despite its flashy looks, Micromax X111 has a lower-than-average 480 mAh Li-Ion battery that can support just 1.5 hours of talk time and 96 hours standby time. It runs on a 900/1800 GSM network.
Micromax X111 has an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. It has a 32 MB internal memory but no card slot, thus making it impossible to extend the memory by using a Memory Card.
Micromax X111 can support 500 phonebook entries and store up to 200 SMSs.
This phone supports only the SMS messaging platform but supports neither MMS nor email.
Micromax X111 lacks a video camera.
This phone has a good quality FM Radio. It, however, lacks a music player.
Micromax X111 does not have a still camera.
Micromax X111 comes with all standard organizer tools such as Calendar, Currency Converter, Calculator, and World Clock among others.
Micromax X111 lacks a web browser.
Micromax X111 has neither Google Maps nor GPS.
Other than the fact that Micromax X111 is GPRS enabled, it is very hard to single out any other distinctive feature in this phone, perhaps the only exception being its attractive looks. The phone is, however, super-small and light.
Micromax X111 retails at an average price of INR 970 (approx., may vary).
Micromax X111 is most likely the cheapest phone on the Indian market. However, since it is a very basic phone, it does not offer much in terms of functionality. Other than making/receiving calls and sending/receiving text messages, the only other thing of note it offers is a basic organizer. It is hard to see the younger crowd intent on connecting with friends through social media sites buying it. Its tiny size and lightweight coupled with its attractive design might make it attractive to people who prefer small phones. The phone even lacks an external memory card slot and this limits its storage space. Perhaps Micromax should have thrown in a few extra features such as a video camera to make it a little more appealing, but additional features would obviously push the price of the phone upwards.
