Micromax, one of India’s telecom giants, manufactures the Micromax W900, which is a mini-SIM Smartphone.

Micromax W900 has a beautiful black body. It weighs 113g and measures 112 x 55 x 14.2 mm. The phone has a 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen display that is capable of displaying 262K colors. It has a screen resolution of 240 x 400 pixels (146 ppi pixel density). Micromax W900 uses a standard 1500mAh Li-ion battery capable of an astonishing 5 hours talk time and 480 hours standby time. This phone operates on a Quad-Band GSM network of 850/900/1800/1900 MHz frequency.

Micromax W900 is an exciting phone with a user-friendly interface. It relies on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Operating System. It has an inbuilt memory of 157MB that one can extend up to16 GB using a Micro SD Memory Card. In addition, it has a memory card slot that can accommodate a 2GB memory card too.

Micromax W900 Plus can support 1000 phonebook entries and store up to 500 SMSs.

Micromax W900 comes with a high quality music player that can play various audio-data formats such as MP3, MP4, WMA, MIDI and AMR. This phone does not have an FM Radio.

Micromax W900 retails at an average price of Rs. 7400 (approx., may vary). Micromax W900 is a decent Smartphone that bears most of the features commonly associated with smart phones. However, it is perhaps interesting to note that this phone operates on 2G internet speeds, which means slow download times. The phone also does not support Java. This might make the phone less attractive to heavy internet users as well as sophisticated Smartphone users. Being a mini-SIM phone may be a potential disadvantage since many Smartphone users have come to expect dual-SIM phones. However, since its price quite low for a Smartphone, it might make up for the features it lacks. For a sub-10K Smartphone, it’s a decent buy.
