Micromax E390 has a stylish, modern design with screen bezel displays for a physical key to the home screen. Its compact build have a smooth, black finish that feels like it is built of quality parts.
This device uses a resistive TFT touchscreen that can be calibrated using a stylus or fingertips. It would have been nice to see a capacitive touchscreen on the E390, as they tend to be more accurate. The user interface is simple to use, with large bright icons for each function.
You can hold up to 2000 entries in your phonebook. In addition, the E390 will save missed, receive, and dialled calls.
You are able to send and receive text messages. Picture messages and e-mail access is not available on the device. The device can switch to a full QWERTY keyboard for an easy texting experience.
The video player enables multi-format playback. You have a basic gallery to also view pictures as well.
You can also listen to FM radio that comes out unsatisfactory in terms of audio quality. You will of course need to add a microSD card to listen to other music on the device. The headphones that come with the E390 are of poor quality and you will probably need to purchase another set.
The 1.3MP camera takes 1280X1024 resolution camera shots. You are also offered features such as scene setting and continuous shots. Picture quality turns out adequate for this type of device.
The experience from recording video will be average at best. This device simply isn't meant to do multimedia well.
A single SIM will allow you to access CDMA 2000 bands. This is fairly restrictive as to what network you can connect to with no GSM access. There is Bluetooth and USB port support. You can access 3G at 3.1 Mbps EVDO Rev A.
As far as organization goes, the E390 has a memo pad and is stylus enabled for faster inputs on the device.
The pre-loaded Opera Mini web browser offers a smooth internet experience. There is also java support so you can play games on the device.
GPS is not an available feature on the E390.
You do have access to live TV via an application for the E390 via 3G speeds, though without Wi-fi support, you will be susceptible to buffering.
You have a 15 hour talk time to look forward to on the E390 as well as 240 standby hours. However, the call quality itself is very poor.
There are really any standout features for the E390 and with no dual SIM capability; you are better off looking at other choices.
