Micromax Canvas Spark is an Android lollipop smartphone from Canvas series. Intex Cloud M6, Motorola Moto E and Xiaomi Redmi 1S are the competitors of this handset. This is a dual SIM handset with 3G connectivity. It also has dual standby option. Both slots support Micro-SIM. It is an affordable priced device which offers good features at such a nominal price. Let's have a discussion at the review of this smartphone.
This dual SIM smartphone impresses when it comes to design and build quality. The metallic silver side gives a unique look to the device and its front looks like a iPhone 3GS but to call it a copy would be wrong. It comes equipped with a 4.7 inch IPS LCD multi-touch display which has the support of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which protects the screen from scratches and fingerprints. It carries a resolution of 960x540 pixels. It has a color depth of 16 million and its pixel density is 234ppi. Below the display lie 3 capacitive buttons corresponding to the standard Android 5.0 icons. Weighing 134 grams it holds a thickness of 8.5 mm.
It is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor paired with Mediatek MT6582M chipset and Mali-400 GPU for high end performance. The processor works well with the 1 GB RAM which is quite helpful in multi-tasking. It runs Android v5.0 (Lollipop) OS out-of-the box.
If we talk about its photography section than it scores good in this department. It houses an 8 MP auto-focus rear camera supporting a resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. It also has LED flash which can be used for taking pictures in low light conditions. At the front side, there is 2 MP snapper which promises only decent selfies and you can take the benefit of video call. On the storage part, it comes loaded with 8 GB internal memory which the user can expand up to 32 GB via microSD card.
For internet and connectivity, Micromax has been offered regular features like 3G, A-GPS, GPS, Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB v2.0, EDGE, GPRS and Wi-Fi. It packs a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery which is rated to deliver a talktime of up to 7 hours and standby time of up to 335 hours on 3G network.
The Micromax Canvas Spark Q380 comes in two color options i.e. White/Gold and Grey/Silver. The buyer can purchase this smartphone at the price of INR 4,999.
