LG Google Nexus 5 was the first phone to run on Android v4.4 KitKat operating system. This smartphone was released in November, 2013. Let's check out its details.
LG Google Nexus 5 is designed by using the bar format, therefore it is easy to handle and carry. It comes with a height of 137.9 mm, width of 69.2 mm and a thickness of 8.6 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 130 g. The front of a phone is dominated by a 5-inch True HD IPS+ display which is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and provides a pretty good resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The device features only three feather touch soft keys present below the display for Back, Home and Options.
Powering the smartphone is a Quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 processor with Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chip-set and Adreno 330 GPU coupled with a RAM of 2GB. There are two options available for internal storage, one with 16 GB and other 32 GB. It runs on Android v4.4 KitKat which can be upgraded to Android v4.4.2 KitKat operating system.
The device supports all versions of 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900), 3G (HSDPA 850/900/1700/1900/2100) and 4G (LTE 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600) frequencies. The phonebook has a capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts. SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM and RSS are some of the messaging and email facilities available for the LG Nexus 5. The phone also comes with the option of predictive text input in order to facilitate typing.
The smartphone boasts 8MP rear shooter which provides a good photo resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. It also features a LED flash, auto-focus, Geo-tagging, touch-focus, face detection, optical image stabilization, photo sphere, HDR and dual recording. The secondary camera has a 1.3MP count. One can record 1080p full HD videos on to the device and it offers an extremely good image and video quality.
The connectivity attributes of the Google Nexus 5 includes 3G, 4G LTE, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi Direct and Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB v2.0 and NFC. It also offers A-GPS and GLONASS connectivity, to facilitate the navigation. The device comes equipped with an non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery which delivers a maximum talk-time of 17 hours and a maximum stand by of 300 hours on 3G network. The phone also comes with the option for wireless charging.
Google Nexus 5 has the goodness of HTML5 browser which handles the apps very well, thrown on its way. The device comes pre-loaded with some of the Google apps like Google search, Maps, Google Talk, Gmail, You-tube, Document editor, Calender, Picasa, Organizer, Photo viewer and editor.
