The colourful LG GD580 Lollipop can be found in pink and blue colors. It is a clam style flip phone made out of a plastic body. The build quality is about average for a body style in this form factor.
An easy to use LG proprietary interface makes the Lollipop functional for just about everyone. You can navigate the device using one hand. The Lollipop will fit comfortably into your pockets.
The phonebook is capable of storing up to 1000 contacts and adding pictures to their profile.
All communication means are available on the cookie, whether you want to send a text, multimedia, or set up your email. Because the Cookie doesn't have a QWERTY keyboard, you will have to deal with T9 texting and emailing. This will slow you down.
The gallery will allow you to view, delete, and save your pictures. A video player enables you to watch MP4, H.263, H.264, and WMV files right on the screen of your device. The small 2.8 inch and low resolution will not give you the best viewing experience.
A music player is capable of playing MP3, WAV, WMA, and AAC+ files. The sound quality is fairly good, with sounds coming out clear. Unfortunately, LG left out a 3.5mm headphone jack which probably would have improved the audio experience. There is almost no storage space on the device, so you will need to expand the memory via a microSD card. You can add up to an 8 GB memory card. An FM radio will allow you to listen to local radio stations.
A 3.2 MP camera is capable of outputting 2048x1536 pixel resolution shots. There is also a bonus front-facing camera.
There is a video camera that will allow your Cookie to take low quality video.
The Cookie can connect to a 2G GSM network on 900, 1800, and 1900 bands. In addition, HSDPA 2100 is also supported. If you want to transfer pictures or other files, you can take advantage of Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 support.
Utility tools included on the Cookie include a calendar, alarm, office 2003, PDF, to-do, document viewer, and calculator.
There is an internet browser that allows you to hop on the internet.
A GPS feature is not available on the Cookie.
This is a nice phone for the average person who wants a phone that has a solid battery life and call quality. There are some nice additional features like the FM radio, internet access, and music player that will give you options.
