The LG 300 is a basic candy bar style device. There is an alphanumeric keypad, large send and end button, and a circular direction pad in the middle of the device. Its black form factor is made entirely out of plastic. The build quality feels cheap, especially given its lightweight.
LG uses a basic proprietary interface to make it easy for anyone to pick up the phone and use it. There is a menu and message option at the home screen. Other than the background and the banner, there is not anything else you can customize on the main screen. Its small design fits easily in your hand for making phone calls. Text messages will be a bit more difficult due to the alphanumeric keypad. There is a predictive text feature which will help a bit.
You can store up to 500 entries on the 300. Multiple numbers can be saved under one contact, and you can also create caller groups. There is also a picture ID and ring ID feature.
The 300 only supports SMS style text messages.
There is a basic photo viewer that will allow you to view, save, and delete your pictures. A video player is not available on the device.
A music player and FM radio is very basic on the device.
LG 300 features a VGA camera of 640x480 resolution.
You can connect the device on a GSM network on bands 850 and 1900 MHz.
Organizer tools available on the 300 include a calendar, alarm, calculator, tip calculator, unit converter, world clock, stopwatch, and notepad.
The LG 300 is a no thrills basic device. Features are few and far between. The call quality and battery life are very solid. If all you are looking for is a device to use as a phone and occasionally text, then this may be the phone to you.
