Lemon B509 is a phone that has been designed by keeping the universal communication need of users worldwide. It is a pretty simple phone with multiple features that a user needs to organize his or her daily routine.

Lemon B509 Design and Build Quality

Weighing only 118 grams with the dimensions of 120x17.5x53mm the phone is very well shaped and easy to hold. The phone is available in two colours, black+grey and black+white with a slightly matt finish, which gives it a very sophisticated look. The phone is bar shaped and designed to pit in your palm. Not much can be said about the build quality of the phone but it is good enough to hold prolonged working hours, however the black colour of the phone is easily scratched. The phone has a Li-ion 2000 mAH, which does not get hot even with 5 hours of continuous use.

User Interface and Comfort to Use Lemon B509

The phone has an impressive 2.4-inch TFT display, which is one of the best in its class. The display is satisfactory for normal use but can strain your eyes with continuous use. Below the screen are four navigation keys and a non-qwerty keypad. The keys are soft and respond well to slight press of touch.

Telephony and Phonebook

The phone has a Dual SIM dual standby feature, which makes it easier for user to save the personal and professional contacts on one phone. The phonebook has the capacity of storing 200 entries and can save all the call logs. You can switch from one SIM to another with ease. The phone has a talk time of 10 hours with full charge. The call volumes are clear and very audible.

Messaging and Emails

The phone has the capacity of sending SMS and MMS. Email is browser based. The speed at which the browser loads is not very impressive.

Gallery, Photo Viewer and Video Player

The gallery of the phone can be used to store photos, videos, ringtones, games, and songs. The phone has an expandable memory slot that supports up to 8GB of space. This makes a lot of space to save all your favourite things. The photo viewer is simple and the video player supports mp4 and 3gp formats for playing music. Because of the slightly bigger screen then its counterparts, the video viewing quality is quite good on the phone.

Lemon B509 Music Player and FM Radio

Music player of the phone supports multiple formats, which include MP3, MIDI, WAV, and AMR. The playback audio quality is audible on both speaker and headset modes. Indoor FM radio reception is not clear but works great on outdoors.

Lemon B509 Camera and Image Quality

The phone has a 0.3MP camera with digital zoom feature. You can click away with the camera with ease. The images turn out in 640 x 480 pixels, which look good on the phone screen, but if you are trying to transfer, it to the computer the images quality is not good.

Video Camera and Video Quality

The phone records a very basic video. The video recorder can be used to take some impromptu videos but you cannot make home movies out of it. The video quality is just decent and the player does not have many features

Lemon B509 Connectivity Options

Standard GPRS, Bluetooth, and USB port is available on the phone. The phone lacks a 3G and Wi-Fi feature. Browser is WAP based. The phone connects to the computer easily without any lags however, the Bluetooth transfer takes some time.

Organiser and Other Utility Tools

The phone has standard organizer features such as alarm clock, clock, calendar, notes, to-do, and scheduler. The tools are quite easy to navigate and we did not have any problems in creating notes. The alarm sounds are ringtone based.

Web Browser and Applications

The phone has some inbuilt applications such as Nimbuzz, Yahoo, Buzzin Town, which helps you connect to your friends easily, and at the same time, you can check your mail and chat. Nimbuzz app on the phone has all the chat features and can be easily integrated.

The two most distinctive features of the phone are the inbuilt LED torch, mobile tracker, and auto call-recording feature. These make the phone a class apart from its counterparts.

Value for Money

Priced at INR 1000 (approx., may vary) in the Indian market the phone gives good value of money to the user. This phone is not meant to be used a smartphone but it is a general phone with multitude of features.
