The Lava M40 is a compact phone that is capable of delivering many multimedia features in addition to being a standard phone. The Lava M40 uses a touchscreen with a 3.2 inch display. It comes equipped with a music player, FM radio, and dual speakers, making it a great media machine. The Lava M40 also provides quick access to Facebook, Twitter and instant messaging. Pictures can be taken with the 1.3 mega-pixel camera and users can stay connected to the internet with WAP support and Bluetooth. These features, combined with the low price, result in the Lava M40 being quite the bargain.

Simplicity in Design

The phone is sleek and compact. The white and silver combination works well with this phone. The speakers are located on the top, just above the display. This convenience makes the sound work well. The face of the phone is simple: speakers, display, and a menu button. There is also a send and end button to either side of the menu button.

Amazing Picture Quality

The display is 3.2 inches, presenting its picture in high resolution. This QVGA type display supports 256k colors. This makes viewing the pictures taken with the 1.3 mega-pixel camera easy. The overall resolution of the screen is 240 x 320 pixels with a camera resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. The camera features digital zoom and video recording.

Music Playing Capabilities

The included music player lets you listen to Mp3 files that you have stored on the internal or external memory as well as listen to the FM radio. The phone contains a standard 3.5 millimetre audio jack for connecting headphones.

Limited Memory

The internal memory of the phone is only 64 MB; this is higher than some phones, though still small enough that using a Micro SD card is required for storing large files. The internal memory can hold up to 500 SMS text messages, all of your contacts and little else. Thankfully, the phone comes equipped with a 2 GB Micro SD card for additional storage. The Micro SD card slot is capable of reading Micro SD cards up to 8 GB in size.

This phone includes standard SMS and MMS features, as well as email, instant messaging and applications for accessing Facebook, Twitter, Skype, and Lava Ebuddy. The wireless and Bluetooth connection options let you stay connected wherever possible. The on screen keyboard is easy to use for sending texts and checking your email. The bottom line is that the Lava M40 is a nice little phone with a great setup of multimedia features. It does everything a phone can do, plus lets you enjoy music and video while staying connected to all of your favourite social networking sites.
