Lava Iris N350 was launched in India in October 2012. It was a much-awaited phone with a multitude of features and it has tried its best to live up to its name.

Lava Iris N350 Design and Build Quality

The phone’s dimensions are 115 x 61.5 x 11.9 mm ad it weighs 115 grams. The phone’s body is made of lightweight plastic, which gives it a very classy look. The phone is sleekly built and is available in black colours. The phone’s form factor is touch bar. The phone has curved edges but the material attracts dust and fingerprints. The phone’s battery lasts a comfortable 2 hours and 45 minute with dual SIM call operations.

User Interface and Comfort to Use Lava Iris N350

The phone has a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen. The home, back and search buttons are at the bottom of the screen. The screen resolution is 320x480 pixels. The screen is TFT capacitive and the display is quite clear and crisp. The phone fits comfortably in your hand and does not slip even in long use. The phone has a built in memory of 160 MB with 256MB of RAM and expandable memory slot up to 32GB. The phone runs on the popular Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) software, which is fast and very user friendly. Touchscreen T9 keyboard and QWERTY keyboard options are available. Typing is comfortable even in portrait mode.

Telephony and Phonebook

The phone supports Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) operations. The phonebook can store up to 1000 phonebook entries. The phonebook can be accessed directly from the screen. The call quality of the phone is good and the proximity sensor of the phone is quite effective.

Messaging and Emails

User can store up to 200 SMSs on the phone. The phone supports SMS, MMS, Email (POP3, SMTP, and Gmail), and Social Networking services

Gallery, Photo Viewer and Video Player

The phone does not have many features to use in the gallery; you can store the standard songs, videos, and pictures. The photo viewer is simple. The video player on the phone supports MP4 and 3GP formats. The play options are very simple and the video colours are very vivid

Lava Iris N350 Music Player and FM Radio

The music player supports MP3 format of music. FM radio comes with a recording option so that you can record your favourite songs as they come up. The audio quality when listening on speaker is quite good when played on normal volume levels. The headphones that come with the set are of very poor quality.

Lava Iris N350 Camera and Image Quality

The phone does not support 3G but still has both front and back cameras. The back camera is of 2MP and the front camera is a simple digital camera. Skype calling with the front camera is very comfortable. The back camera has a 1600 x 1200 Pixels resolution and the pictures are very adequate. The camera also has features like Night vision and 4x zoom. Although on zoom, the pictures turn out to be very pixelated. The camera supports JPEG, BMP and GIF formats.

Video Camera and Video Quality

Standard video recording can be done from the back camera. The video recordings from the phone were not very satisfactory. The sound did not record well and video was not very crisp.

Lava Iris N350 Connectivity Options

The phone supports all the modern connectivity options including Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, and USB. The connection with PC using USB works fine but is slow.

Organiser and other Utility Tools

Alarm clock, calendar, calculator, and music organizer are some of the features available on the phone.

Lava Iris N350 Web Browser and Applications

The phone supports Android WAP 2.0 browser. The phone also comes with Google Play for downloading music, games, and various apps. The phone has a 1GHz processor but despite of that the internet speed on the phone is too slow.

The phone does not have GPS.

Value for Money

The mobile is priced approximately at INR 4000 (approx., may vary) in the Indian market.

The phone does not have 3G and the camera resolution is very low, on the other hand, the phone’s stylish looks and good gaming interface earns it a 3.5 starts out of 5.
