Lava has added a full touch dual SIM phone with the C81. The curved edges help give the device an elegant look. Overall, the build quality is very good.
An Android style user interface will make the C81 easy for Android users to navigate. Its slim, lightweight design makes it easy to fit into your pockets.
Your phonebook will be able to store up to 500 contacts. There is also call memory to store dialled, missed, and received calls.
Both SMS and MMS messages can be sent/received on the device. There is also email support to connect your personal/business emails. In addition, there is MSN and Yahoo Messenger for chat communication.
The basic gallery allows you to delete and store your pictures. The video player will allow you to playback MP4, 3GP, AVI, and KMV files.
To listen to your music, you can expand the memory via the microSD card with up to 8 GB of space. Music formats in MP3, MIDI, AMR, WAV, and AAC files are supported. There is an FM radio that will allow you to access local stations, plus record their content. In addition, you can set the alarm to wake you up to the radio. The dual speakers and 3.5 mm head jack allow you to experience a crisp audio quality experience.
The 1.3MP camera is capable of shooting at a 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution. There is also a digital zoom feature. Overall, the image quality is about average for a camera of this resolution.
You are also able to record video, though the quality will be choppy.
You can connect the C81 to a GSM 900 and 1800 MHz network. There is Bluetooth support with A2DP and microUSB connectivity.
You can access the internet using the pre-installed WAP browser. There are some applications that are pre-loaded including Angry Birds, Talking Tom, MSN, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, and Lava Buddy.
The C81 lacks GPS support.
There is a calendar, currency converter, call conference feature, and calculator.
There are roughly 15 pre-installed Hindi movies that are on the C81 for your viewing pleasure.
The value-priced C81 can be purchased for roughly Rs. 2999 (approx., may vary).
With a solid battery life and a strong call quality, the C81 has a lot going for it. Although it is not an actual Android device, there are plenty of features, and the price tag is low enough to justify a purchase.
