Karbonn telecommunications is a firm in India which was founded in March, 2009. It is a joint venture mobile manufacturing company between Bangalore-based UTL Group and Delhi-based Jaina Group. Its headquarters are located in Bangalore and Noida, India. The company has announced a new smartphone called the Opium N9 in July, 2014. The box packs a handset, charger, USB cable, battery, earphone, user manual and a warranty card. The phone is discussed below in detail.
The Opium N9 has an extremely stylish and edgy design that makes it stand out. It seems to be a slim phone which can easily fit into one's palm. The overall look of phone is impressive with a nice wide IPS capacitive touchscreen of 5.0-inches which provides a high resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The front panel also features three feather touch soft keys for options, home and back. It comes equipped with accelerometer, proximity, ambient light and compass sensors.
The Karbonn Opium N9 runs on a Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor and a massive RAM of 1 GB to ensure a snappy performance. It has an internal memory of 4 GB which can be expanded to another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. This smartphone is based on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system which has enough power to tackle the apps that are thrown on its way.
This dual SIM device operates on 2G (GSM 900/1800 MHz) and 3G (HSDPA 2100 MHz) network frequencies. The user can store a huge number of contacts in the phonebook memory. The messaging facilities available for the device includes SMS, MMS along with email.
The Karbonn Opium N9 has a good 8 MP rear camera that takes 3264x2448 pixels resolution pictures. There is a LED flash for low light conditions. While the secondary camera has a 2 MP count which is capable of capturing 1600x1200 pixels resolution selfies and allows the users to video calling.
There is a FM radio and music player that offers enjoyable music experience. The smartphone is also capable of capturing HD videos. The device comes pre-loaded with various apps for the users comfort. Games and movies look really interesting on the large screen of the Karbonn Opium N9.
There are stacks of connectivity options as well, the phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, micro USB port and hands-free connectivity. It also has GPS and A-GPS capabilities. The Opium N9 is fueled by a removable Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery to ensure a better usage time.
The Karbonn Opium N9 is dipped in simple yet classy shades which are Black and White. You can purchase this smartphone at a price tag of Rs. 8,999 approx, may vary. Overall, the Opium N9 sounds to be a great phone with a list of features and that too at a reasonable price.
