Karbonn is a telecommunication firm which was founded in March, 2009 in India. It is a joint venture mobile manufacturing company between Delhi-based Jaina Group and Bangalore-based UTL Group. It is headquartered in Bangalore and Noida, India. The company has released a new smartphone, the Opium N7 in July, 2014. It comes in a pack with a charger, battery, earphone, USB cable, user manual and a warranty card. Let's take a closer look at the specifications of the phone.

Design and Display

The Opium N7 is a good looking phone which is easy to use and handle. The silver colored border present below the soft keys enhances the beauty of phone. The front panel of Opium N7 is dominated by a WVGA IPS capacitive touchscreen of 4.0-inches which provides a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It also features three feather touch soft keys for options, home and back. The device comes equipped with accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensors.

Hardware and Software

Housing the Karbonn Opium N7 is a Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor which is mated to a RAM of 512 MB. The phone has the capability to handle the on board apps as well. It has an internal memory of 4 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The Opium N7 runs on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system in order to ensure a smart performance.

Telephony and Messaging

This dual SIM device operates on 2G (GSM 900/1800 MHz) and 3G (HSDPA 2100 MHz) network frequencies. The device has the capability to store a huge number of contacts in its phonebook memory. For messaging, the device is featured with SMS, MMS, IM and email facilities.

Camera

The Karbonn Opium N7 has a primary camera of 5 MP which is featured with a LED flash for low light conditions along with digital zoom and takes 2560x1920 resolution pictures. The VGA front-facing camera is also there for capturing 640x480 pixels resolution selfies and allows the users to video conferencing.

Multimedia

There is a FM radio and music player that offers enjoyable music experience. The phone is also featured with a video player for entertainment. The device comes pre-loaded with various apps for the users comfort.

The connectivity attributes of the smartphone includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPRS, EDGE, micro USB port and hands-free connectivity. It also features GPS and A-GPS for navigation. The Opium N7 is energized by a removable Li-Ion 1600 mAh battery to ensure a better usage time.
