Intex Aqua Star Power as its name suggest is a power packed smartphone by Indian mobile maker, Intex. It was announced in September and launched in October, 2014. It's a budget smartphone with modest set of specification. The phone is not an eyesore by its looks but yes it offers enough features to fulfill the basic needs of the users. It supports 8 MP camera, 4.5-inch screen, front camera, 1 GB RAM and more. What else one can expect at such a reasonable price. But Intex also has Aqua Power, Aqua Style and Aqua Style Pro smartphones with quite similar features at affordable cost.

Display and Design

The front frame of the phone packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS full laminated display which is ideal for vivid visuals. It provides a screen resolution of 854x480 pixels and 260 K display colors. The device is 133.3 mm long, 66.8 mm wide and 10.5 mm thick while it weighs around 160 grams. Its moderate size make it easy to use device that one can even access it screen single handed with no difficulty in typing at all. But if talk about the negative part, its bulky and heavy size make it difficult to hold for long hours.

Processor and OS

Processing the device to handle all the basic operations of the phone is a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor that is coupled with a 1 GB RAM. The operating system version offered in this smartphone is an Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.

Camera and Memory

The company has fitted 8 MP camera on the back panel for the camera lovers. It also offers auto-focus, LED flash feature along with photo mode, GPS info, face detection, smile shot and auto scene detection to make the photography experience more better. For the selfies, it has 2 MP camera at front panel. To store the pictures, videos, audios and other important stuff, it has internal memory of 8 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

The smartphone offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, GPS and A-GPS as its connectivity features. It operates on the 2G (900 / 1800) and 3G ( WCDMA 2100 MHz) network frequencies. For the backup, it depends upon a 3000mAh battery which is not bad unit for this handset. It provides a talktime period of around 9-10 hours and standby time of 350 hours.

The Intex Aqua Star Power is available in Black, Blue and Grey color options. It is priced for INR 8,690 approximately. While if consider price range, many devices are available in the market which give direct competition to this handset like Lenovo A7000, ASUS Zenfone 5 and HTC Desire 526 G Plus.
