Intex Aqua i5 mini is the new invention by Intex in its Aqua portfolio, which got released in May, 2014. It is a smartphone with theme based user interface, which helps the user to access the apps by just clicking the related icon. Its box contents include a handset, battery, charger, earphone, data cable, user manual, screen guard, flip cover and warranty card.

Design and Display

Aqua i5 mini is a good looking phone that has got a bar format with a sleek metal rim surrounding its bezel. Its front panel consists of a front camera lens, a screen and three soft touch buttons. It has 135 mm of height, 67.4 mm of width and 9.5 mm of thickness as its dimensions with a weight of 140 grams. The phone is adorned with 4.5 inches IPS capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480x854 pixels and 217ppi pixel density.

Hardware and Software

The smartphone comes with the power of 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor. It has 4 GB of internal memory, expandable up to 32 GB and 1 GB of RAM running on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System. Presence of proximity, motion, light and G sensors ensures effective operations.

Telephony and Messaging

The device operates on 2G ( GSM 900 / 1800 MHz ) and 3G ( WCDMA 2100 MHz ) network frequencies. Being a dual SIM handset with dual stand-by support, Aqua i5 mini can support two GSM connections at the same time. For messaging, it supports SMS, MMS, Email, IM and Group SMS. It also has the T9 dictionary and Predictive text input feature that helps in typing.

Camera

The device comes equipped with a 8 MP rear shooter with Zoom, flash, panorama, face beauty, HDR, continuous shot and video recording features. Also on-board is a 2 MP front facing camera to facilitate video calling.

Entertainment

For the music buffs, the device has inbuilt music player and FM radio. The music player is capable of playing all popular formats and the FM radio comes with the recording feature. User can record and play videos on the phone or can use its Social Networking Services feature to stay connected with friends. User can also enjoy the pre-loaded games ( like The Avengers and Chennai Express ) and can even download more. Plus availability of loudspeaker and 3.5 mm jack further increases its capabilities.

Connectivity and Battery

As far as connectivity is concerned, the phone is GPRS and Wi-Fi enabled. Standard connectivity options are also included like EDGE, Bluetooth, USB and Handsfree. GPS with A-GPS support is also there to help in navigation. The phone houses a Li-ion battery of 1500 mAh.

On the apps front, the phone is armed with Intex-Zone, Google Play Store, Matrabhasha, Intex Games Club, Online software update, Opera Mini, NQ Vault, WeChat Launcher, Newshunt, Intex Care, Zapak, No Security and Sony Live.
