When it comes to mid- range handsets, few seem to take more satisfaction in design and build quality than HTC. Now the company has come with another mid- range smartphone i.e. HTC Desire 820 which holds several amazing features like 13MP camera, 5.5 inch screen and 16GB internal memory. It was released in September, 2014. The company has stressed that it is the top model in the Desire family and its main highlight is the Octa- core with in- built LTED modem. The detailed analysis of its features and specifications are discussed below:

Display and Dimensions

The phone features a 5.5- inch LCD HD display which exhibits a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and offers a 267ppi pixel density and has a 16 million color depth. Typing on this smartphone is not a big problem for people having big palms. It is wide and long like its predecessor i.e. HTC Desire 816. At the right panel, there is power button which is accompained by the volume rocker. At the left panel there is a flap which covers the 2 Nano-SIM slots and the memory card slot. The handset measures 157.7x78.74x7.74mm and weighs at 155 grams.

Processor and Operating System

The most important feature of the handset is its Octa- core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz per core and four clocked at 1.0 GHz) accompained by 2GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. It is backed by Android v4.4.2, KitKat operating system for the proper functioning of the device.

Camera and Storage

The HTC Desire 820 poses a 13MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture, BSI sensor, LED flash, as well as an 8MP secondary camera for selfies and video calls. The rear shooter comes packed with features like touch focus, HDR, geo- tagging, face detection and image recording. It is able to record 1080 pixel videos at 30 frames per second, while the front snapper has the capability to record 720 pixels videos at 60 frames per second. It is loaded with 16 GB internal memory which is further expandable upto 128GB by using microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

Connectivity attributes on the smartphone include 3G, 4G, bluetooth, USB, GPS, A- GPS, GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi. It offers a 2600 mAh battery which is quite enough for the whole day. It promises to deliver a talk time of up to 22.5 hours and stand- by time of up to 424 hours on 3G network.
