HTC Desire 816 is designed using bar format which is somewhat similar to the other phones but the metallic body makes it superior. The device stocks a non-removable 2600 mAh battery which can stay longer even with extensive use. It requires a careful deal while holding long talks because of its large size.
The front of HTC Desire 816 is dominated by a 5.5-inch super LCD2 display with 16M colors and provides a pretty good resolution of 720x1280 pixels. There is no hard button present on the display, only three feather touch keys for Back, Options and Home. The power button is placed on the side of phone along with volume down and up keys. In terms of hardware, the device is powered by a super fast Quad-core, 1.6 GHz processor and a RAM of 1.5 GB.
HTC Desire 816 has a support for 2G, 3G and 4G network with the capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts. The phonebook is featured with a voice dialing, SNS integrations and contact history. The phone gives superb call quality all the times.
There is messaging and email facility available for HTC Desire 816 which includes SMS(threaded view), MMS, Email and Push Mail. All of these enables you to send and receive data. The device also features predictive text input which helps in typing.
The back houses an excellent camera of 13MP with LED flash, auto-focus, Geo-tagging, touch-focus, face detection, HDR, HD video and image recording while the front facing camera has a good 5MP count. The camera delivers pictures of good quality all the times with a photo resolution of 4160x3120 pixels.
Games and HD videos looks very good on the display. It comes with an impressive music player with an easy to use interface. The sound is loud and clear with the twin loudspeakers and even better with the supplied headphones.
The phone supports 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE, micro USB and NFC. It also supports a A-GPS and GLONASS for navigation. HTC Desire comes pre-loaded with some of the Google apps like Google search, G-mail, Google Talk, YouTube, Calender, Maps, Document viewer, Photo viewer and editor.
The smartphone is dipped in various elegant colors that includes Black, Red, Gray, White and Green.
The excellent phone is priced around Rs.17,899. This is the approximate price which may vary.
It looks stylish, performs brilliantly and costs a whole lot lesser than other Android flagships. The automatic updates are the icing on the cake. Moreover, the excellent camera is the another plus point. Those looking for an alternative can also consider the Sony Xperia SP with a price tag of Rs.18,990.
